I found out two weeks ago that my husband had been having an affair. Ive suspected this for a while now but I got solid proof two weeks ago when she had called me and told me how they have been together for 3 months. He says that he knows that he messed up and that he is going to show me that i can trust him again. we have been married for 23yrs and this is not the first affair that he has had. Im trying to be strong, but this is just devastating. Am I wrong for questioning his feelings for me? Do I keep talking about it and trying to find out what is wrong and why did it happen? I really need some advice, i dont know how to move forward. I get from him its not me, he just made a mistake, how am i supposed to trust this man again. Or should I just give up.

My best friend ruined my day with her immature, bitchy self. If she doesn't get her way, she has a tizzy fit. I told her weeks ago that I couildn't go to yard sales with her on 9/12 because i have a hair appointment. She wasn't happy. I also told her that I don't have any money to go to yard sales. She tried to talk me into going to more yard sales by saying that if I don't go, there...
it won't be the last time he cheats
he might love you
he loves cheating more
although it hurts to read that, it doesn't make it untrue
It has nothing to do with your qualities or worth however.
It is simply because his narcissistic personality and character would not give him the capacity to love anyone.
He doesn't love the affair partners either but everyone is an object from which he can gain from be it sex, comfort, finances, or narcissistic supply.
It's self centered world he lives in where the value of people are correlated with what they can do for him.
You supply him with comfort, companionship, and stability. Affair partners supply him with sex and ego enhancement etc. for the people in his life.
It is unlikely that he will change or understand what love is.
He makes false promises because he does not want exposure of who he is or to lose the stability you provide him. It has nothing to do with love.
if you stay with him, get regular STD checks. he's not going to stop cheating
if it were me, I'd quietly see a lawyer and end this sham of a marriage
... he will cheat again.
