So here I am now, in a boat I never wanted! My wife of 14 yrs informed (2 kids under 16) me last Wednesday of her 4 month affair. She's said she's in love with him and doesn't know what she wants. Flip side I got her to tell me she was ready to move out and had only stayed 'this long' was for the kids. I am in love with her, and this would be so much easier if it just morphed to hate. She's seeing a therapist herself to figure out 'what she wants', so here is my inclination - I firmly state we seek therapy together ASAP as now I need the truth and to see if there is hope of reconciliation (I need to know if she really wants to or it's truly over in her heart).
Thoughts from those who've arrived in this hellhole nightmare before me. I look to your experiences to help guide me.
PS: I had previously thought the untimely passing of my Mom was tough, this is a whole new level of hell! >:^}

This is going to take a LONG time to get over.
You may need counseling to sort through your anger, devastation, and how to move forward.
Look out for number one: yourself and you can be the best possible parent for those kids.
I had divorce papers drawn up 3 days after dday, and had my wife sign them less than 2 weeks post dday. I think that was a giant shock. I never filed....but still have them locked away in my work office.
2.5 years later...still married and live in the same house....
