Infidelity Support Group
Any relationship in which one partner engages willfully in sexual relations with another outside of the partnership is considered to have experienced infidelity. This breach of trust is often traumatizing for the faithful partner as well as the relationship, and support is often needed to heal emotionally and to decide whether or not the relationship should continue after...
I also, in no way, blame myself for my EX's affairs. I know now that he is a coward, and the spouses and OP's who involve themselves in cheating are morally handicapped and selfish.
Your friend sounds disgusting. She also sounds like she deserves this guy she has been cheating with.
I continue to take the high road. I still value the vows I took. I will also eventually discuss with our daughter what her father did. The spin I place on that discussion will depend on what our relationship comes to. I have discussed the A with family members because even though I may choose to rebuild, forgive and move on, my family would never forgive him!
The fact is there are no perfect marriages. When people are in love, they overlook the faults of the other person. When things are bad, every fault stands out like a beacon in the night, flashing its warning of doom. Certainly there are degrees of bad marriages, but the vow was for better or for worse. It was a commitment to make this work until there simply weren't any more options. And in most cases, it isn't the faults got bigger or worse, but the person who cheated decided rather than honor the commitment he/she made, they would find love with another person. Instead of rekindling the love for their spouse, which requires some work, they opted for the ready-made excitement of a prepackaged deal outside the marriage to solve their problems.
And to be sure, now that they are married, the blinders will start to fall away. The fantasy will fade against the backdrop of day to day living. The imperfections of each spouse will come out of hiding, and they will be faced with the reality that the grass wasn't really greener on the other side. Indeed, it is much, much browner. As stated, any relationship founded upon deceit, lies, and character flaws that can justify cheating is destined to be its own little hell.
I was happily married too, but I am here now. Trust is a blindfold, and if I was anywhere close to being as smart as I think I was I would have built defenses against infidelity. I have a great wife and she is working with me through this, but damn this sucks.
AS for the OW motto..what could they possibly say to justify these "relationships"? Just like the CS, the OWs and OMs know that they are doing the wrong thing. They can't face themselves so they have to tear someone apart. They can't admit to themselves what they really are.
Oh Hell Yes.
It's cold. Just cold.
It amazes me what women can do to women.
L~
ARGGG! I just heard this $hit today from a "friend" I am phasing out. She has been a serial home wrecker for 25 years (and she is married and has always had 2 married guys at ANY given time).
Nothing to lose? Really? The wife is a bitch? Really?
One of the marriages she helped destroy was with a man (Fred) with 3 kids (all from different mothers). His youngest was one. His oldest daughter had a one month old daughter. My "friend" and her live-in SO were buddies with the OM. and his wife.
Long story short: Affair started, breakup/divorce/bitter custody battle and the OM shoots himself in the head in his wife's garage. My "friend" starts to date "Drop Dead Fred's" best friend....wait for it....a married man with 4 children. Yup, his wife of 40 years is a "bitch" too!
Nothing to lose? Seriously? NO guilt? NO conscience? NO integrity? NO compassion? NO self respect! Yup "nothing to lose"....'cause she ain't much to begin with.
UGH!
@ steve- hang in there! Im cheering you 2 on!
