Hey, I had my last appointment with ER before my IVF cycle beginsnext month and was given my AMH test result.
I understand its a hormone test and is indicative of the number of eggs I have left.
My number was 10.4 or somewhere around there, she told me this is below average for my age group (29) But still in the top 25th percentile but indicated not to expect too many eggs at retrieval.

Can anyone tell me what their numbers were and what they know about it?

I was 27-29 when I had my test results, they were average for a woman who'd in her mid 40s (there I avoided all the scales and variations used at different clinics) and I got 8 eggs each cycle, all of which fertilized each cycle.
We have a daughter now.

My AMH was .7 on my first cycle (low - I was 31 years old) and they retrieved 4 eggs, 3 fertilized and one took - I have a two year old. On my second cycle was .01 (very low) and they retrieved 6, 5 fertilized, two made it to freeze and but the two transferred resulted in a BFN. It's QUALITY, not quantity.

I can add more to this now that i've done a cycle. I'm currently only 2dp5dt. I have low AMH, and was expected to not have a very good round, we were doing this solely for answers, so I did what's called a mini stim. The only stims I used were my letrozole cd3-7 and megadoses of follistim cd6-10. They retrieved 14 eggs, but 7 fertilized. They thought only 6 did, but I had one late bloomer. In the end I was able to transfer 2 grade A blasts, and have 3 make it to freeze. I don't know if this is because my egg quality isn't actually as bad as they thought it was, or if my vitamins played a big role, as I had many eggs during my 5 IUIs and still no success. Either way, good luck and hoping you have a great cycle. You never know until you get there. If i listened to what everyone said, I never would've made it this far!

Hi Nedico,

Hang in there! So I OBSESSED about the number of eggs on my first cycle.
Personal opinion? It is a waste of energy. :-)
I forget what my numbers were at the end of the day, but it all comes down to: do I have at least one egg to implant? If the answer is yes (which I sounds like it likely will), then breath deep and relax.

I don't think they should give freeze reports until after the 2ww. I mean why stress about it during your 2ww?

We had a couple successfully freeze, plus our one that we used in the first cycle. At the beginning I had over 30 follicles respond to the meds. So quality is key, not quantity.

I also think it is important to tell your DH this kind of info ahead of time. My DH got stressed by the numbers until I put his eye on the prize: one little embryo!!!

Good to read all these responses, I am actually suprised about how calm I am about everthing, obviously I think about it all the live long day but I actually am not stressing about it just wondering, I think the hardest part for me is the limbo it all puts you in. I know they say you cant put your life on hold but I have so many plans which I cant make because I have no idea what position I might be in in 6 months from now!!!
