I also financed my IVF through Capital One, but my RE just told me that as of April 10, Capital One no longer offers medical loans. My cycle has cost about $14k.

Fortunately for us insurance has covered it completely.

Capitol One Fertility Healthcare financing is how I was able to do IVF. Advanced Reproductive Care is the middle man who offers packages and works with Capital One. You have to select an IVF doctor that is signed up with them. I was only able to afford the one cycle plus program which is about a 13k loan, 8 yrs, which is a fixed rate. The downfall, by the time I pay off this loan, it would cost me 24k, the rate is 16% (I think) and I have good credit! So no insurance coverage and have had to pay out of pocket for my meds which for the fresh cycle costed 4k and the frozen cycle about $750. Also with this package, Capital One/ARC does not cover monitoring with the frozen transfer, so I paid an estimate of $320. My husband and I did fundraising to raise money to cover the cost of the meds and travel (we have to travel 5 1/2 hours to our IVF clinic.)Luckily we have close friends who we stayed with so we were saved from lodging expenses.

I agree. It's different for each state. I'm very lucky as I didn't have to pay that much for my IVF. The total was $15,000 but our share was $4000+. Our FET was less than that, $3000+, but still it was more money than we spent on something we never, in a million years, thought we would ever do. I need to check if my insurance will cover IVF the second time or part(again) as I don't have enough to pay for the whole thing.

First IVF with meds was about $18,000. It didn't work. We used savings and I took a loan against my 401k.

2nd IVF is being paid for with a loan with Capital one for IVF. We got 7.9% for 4 years for $16,000 loan. Pretty good. The longer you take to pay the loan the higher the percentage rate.

Once option to consider is the Shared Risk program. You pay a little less than what 2 IVF treatments would be (about $16,000) but they'll cover you for 6 IVF cycles (3 fresh and 3 frozen). Assuming you'll have enough eggs to freeze. If you don't then you only get 3 fresh cycles for that price. That price is for ICSI. You can do it without but I don't know why you would want to. You need to take all the advantages you can get.

NOTE: Capital one is only taking loan applications until May 31. After that they are discontinuing this type of loan.

Yeah, you'll be in debt but most importantly you'll have your family. It's all about being happy!!

For those who have insurance IVF coverage, if you don't mind me asking, what is the insurer's name and what state are you in?

I have the same question for all those who are fully covered under insurance for IVF or FET. Our employer have July-June insurance year. So this is the time to chose insurance for next year. It will be very helpful to know little more b'cos there are tons of choices to chose from and really difficult to look at every alternative.
