Any teachers out there? If so, what grade/subject do you teach, what state, and how big are your class sizes?
This is my sixth year teaching and I am teaching 4th grade for the first time- any tips for me would be appreciated. I teach in Michigan and I have 30 students in my class.

I teach elementary Special Education in Southern Maryland (Calvert County). This is my 11th year. I currently work with 3rd and 5th grade but it tends to change each year based on the numbers. My class size is pretty small 3-7 when I have pull out groups but when I am co-teaching, it goes up to 25-28.

BTW, I heard that teachers are in the top 3 professions for experiencing infertility!!
Fourth grade is such a great age. They are very influential. Be a role model for them. Always show and model respect for each other and authority. I make sure that I never embarass, and degrade them in any way. I like to remove them from the classroom if I am having a problem with them. That way you are not making a spectacle of them in front of their peers.
