So I'm new to this board and am glad that cidekmat is a member of this group and so I got curious, i've been looking for a good TTC board that understands my needs. This looks like a very good and active site, very cool. I'd love to know who is on here and some of your recent challenges...
I need support TTC now more than ever. We had an ectopic pregnancy last spring and was just recently given the news that my remaining tube is shot. So we're going to have surgery in early October to remove my remaining tube and then start IVF.
I'm scared, must admit. Hubby is afraid of shots, so I'll have to administer them myself I guess. Plus, after the tube is removed, that's it. It's IVF or nothing. But I have a pretty good sense of humor about the whole situation and am doing ok...I guess.
Sense of humor you say? Yup, I just planned a pre-surgery party with my single girlfriends - it's a "no more birth control" party because darn it I have to look forward to something!!!

As far as introductions go.. I am Stephanie. Originally we were told that we would have no problems ttc. I was told everything looked great. We just don't have sperm (as I am a lesbian) Now, we are several IUI's and at home inseminations in, and nothing is working. We have decided that my wife will now ttc.
Your positive attitude is great and will get you far in this journey! Best of luck to you!
But in all seriousness, I wish you good luck. We have a consultation at the end of the month to discuss where we go from here in our process. I'm pretty sure it's injectables and AI but not 100%. So we are behind you all the way!

A couple of my friends (who may be slightly crazy) keep saying to me "oh, you WILL get your baby" and I just feel like telling them, I'll get my baby dust you mean. The baby dust is supposed to bring babies, but may not. :-)
Thanks for the support. I will admit it's been a hard road. I saw my shrink today (he's the reason I'm not a wreck!!!) and he wanted to talk to me about the IVF and why I was worried.
Ugh, what a tough conversation. I wanted to skip it, but he wouldn't let me. I guess I feel better now. Ok, so if I'm going to be honest with myself I am scared!!! Scared about the odds, scared about the costs, scared that I may have to give up at some point.
Shew! Now that that's off my chest, on for the good stuff - bring on the drugs!!!

You can vent and you will never feel alone bc we all TRULY understand the ups and downs of IF.
Keep you positive attitude it will make the whole IVF process so much easier for you!
My name is Shawna. Welcome to the board!! This is the best bunch of ladies around!!! Lots of love and support here!! I've only been really active here since the beginning of this year but have been here for a couple years now!! I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery!! Love you positive attitude towards the situation!!! Can't wait to get to know you more.
Here's a little about me......I've been TTC since I was much younger (35 now), but all the docs kept telling me nothing was wrong and it would happen eventually.......fast forward to 2010. My DH is active duty Army and we went to have my wonderful exam and immediately when I told her that I had been TTC for so long and not been on birth control since 19......she sent me to a specialist on post!! Lots of tests later, I was diagnosed with a unicornuate uterus (only half of everything). Anywho.......they tried clomid, TI, and IUI (all that was available to us through this clinic). Fast forward 2 years and I finally got into the fertility clinic in our area (3.5 hours away) and they knew immediately by my condition and description of menstrual pain that I had endo.....they also found a polyp!! Now I just completed my first IUI here with femara and ovidrel with a BFN.......looks as though we are starting over....received the official call from the RE this afternoon!! Hoping for better results this go around!!
I'm Jen. DH and I have been TTC for 2 1/2 yrs. He checks out fine, I have low ovarian reserve. We tried injections once with TI and was a BFN. RE said we have very little time using my OE so we decided to move right to IVF. I am doing injections now. Our chances are slim..only being given a 20-25% chance success rate. We then will move onto DE.
