My name is Alyssa, and thanks to an "unspecified" ovarian disorder and a fibroid blocking one tube, am part of the IF world. We've tried clomid with TI for 6 months followed by 3 IUIs, all with BFNs consistently following. So, I am now on metformin (which so far, sucks) and will start taking BCPs in preparation for my first IVF as soon as AF arrives (any moment now). My IVF will be at the end of October/early November.
My DH has quite a fear of needles, and I travel a lot for work, so I hope that I can give my own shots. I heard from one person that because of the location, you really can't do it. It seems like other women are always able to give their own shots. Who knew that being able to give yourself shots was a good thing...
It's great that you have such a keen sense of humor--this process tests it but I believe that we do come out stronger and hopefully it's worth it all.
So I meet with my fertility doc again after the surgery in October. Then it is off to the races. I will start IVF probably in November or December.
Anyone else starting then? Anyone else planning surgery soon?
