I just started my first DE cycle yesterday and was hoping to share it with anyone doing IVF right now! DH and I are so freakin excited!! After 2 failed IVF's and an FET that ended in miscarriage we moved on to the DE program and are praying that this is our miracle cycle! The donor's egg retrieval will be around 8/5 with a transfer date of 8/10. Praying this is the one...

Lynn, I'm sorry to hear that your cycle got pushed to September. Thanks for the well wishes! Enjoy the rest of your summer, and hopefully you'll be able to get started sooner rather than later!

How are things going Danielle? Is your ER soon?
Danielle3502
Things are going pretty well - thanks for asking, Heather! I had a bit of a scare last night; I started Ganirilex, and I was feeling really nauseous and off, and my hands were tingling. I was afraid my ovaries were hyperstimulating, but I think it was just the new medication and my anxiety. I'm feeling much better today! My follicles have been growing slowly, but they finally started to "blossom" as my nurse said. She thinks my ER will be on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Hopefully I'll have a better idea when I go in for my US tomorrow. How are things going with you?

I just finally started OCP's yesterday. I am not scheduled to start stim until Sept 11

I hope it goes fast for you!

So my ER is scheduled for Saturday morning - yay! But I got some not so good news; it's not devastating, just upsetting. My progesterone is too high (I have PCOS, and I literally have about 40 follicles), so I won't be able to do a fresh transfer. They're going to freeze our embryos, and then we'll probably do an FET in October. I know it's for the best since as they explained it, it's not the right environment now for implantation so obviously we will have a better chance of success if we wait. It's just frustrating because I thought up until today that our transfer would be next week, and now I have to wait until October and go through a whole new cycle. I've heard FETs aren't as difficult to go through as a fresh IVF cycle, but I was hoping to be PUPO much sooner. I was really excited, but that excitement has certainly diminished a bit. I thought we were so close... And my husband isn't upset at all; he says it's for the best, and we're still heading in the right direction. I know he's right, but after six years of this, I was hoping we were finally reaching the end. I really hope the time flies by - just need to keep moving forward!

How exciting that your ER is so soon!! So crazy that you have 40 follicles! Definitely probably for the best that you will be waiting for the transfer, you want to make sure things are nice and calm in there :) But I totally get being disappointed for sure! We go through so much waiting dealing with IF that when we have to wait even longer, it doesn't seem fair! I'm definitely excited to hear how your ER goes tomorrow, eek!!!

Thanks, Lindsey! I'm definitely uncomfortable now with all these follicles so it will be nice to have them removed. ;) Everything has got to be so out of whack now so I do think I have a much, much higher chance of success doing an FET. The success rates are just as good as a fresh transfer, if not a little better. And I'm excited (but nervous) to see how many embryos we end up with and all that. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

I'm happy to say the egg retrieval went well! They retrieved 22 eggs, and I just found out today that 15 of them were fertilized. :-)

Woo hooo! On 15 fertilized! Hope you are taking it easy and drinking lots of fluids!! Can't wait to hear your next update!

Yes, I've been reading and watching Netflix all day, and my husband has been practically forcing Gatorade down my throat, lol. ;)
