So I was reviewing my insurance coverage and saw that for fertility I have the following coverage:
Fertility drugs Not covered
Fertility services Covered; copay based upon place of service; coverage is provided for diagnosis and treatment of the underlying medical cause of infertility
Artificial insemination Covered; comprehensive care covers ovulation induction and artificial insemination; six cycles; preauthorization required from Plan
In vitro fertilization Not covered
I'm assuming artificial insemination is IUI? But my question is this, who can do the IUI? The RE's in my area are not covered by my plan, but there are several OB/GYN's on my plan that specialize in fertility and reproducion.
What do you gals suggest? I can either change my plan in October to the PPO which covers the RE's but drastically changes my out of pocket expenses which is not good, or I can try to find another type of doctor to help with my infertility....
any suggestions?
