So, this month was supposed to be our first shot at IUI after being told several months ago that IUI wouldn't make much of a difference. So, I allowed myself to be slightly hopeful that it would work. Then yesterday we did a u/s and I had one mature follicle and no others that were even close. So, that deflated me a bit but I decided to trudge on. I called this morning to set up my IUI for this afternoon and they can't get me in at a time that will work they want me to be there while DH is still at work. Um, sorry but kind of need him there. So, after 4 years and two laparoscopies and months of hormones I am done. I just can't keep doing this. DH can't get off work early and he can't skip his test this afternoon for a doctors appointment. I am heartbroken and haven't even been able to call the RE to tell them I am not coming today because I am sure I will cry. I SO wish I was at home today and not at work.

Oh sweetie I am so sorry. This infertility journey is so rough! I feel your pain though. We havent even started doing anything like IUI or trigger shots or even hormones to help our situation they are just so expensive. And me and DH both work full time jobs so getting the time off is hard to. But try to keep faith dont let go of your dream just yet. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Well, I called to cancel and they said that they could get me in later but that I would probably have to sit around for an hour or so before they could see me. So, I guess I will give it this one shot but if this doesn't work I NEED to take a break. I am emotionally and physically drained and I need to take a break.

I completely understand your frustrations. I'm going through the exact thing myself. And almost at the end of my journey of trying to concieve. I just got my BFN this morning.

But with that said it only takes ONE follicle (my girlfriend got pregnant on just one, and low sperm to boot) I suggest 24 hours after your IUI to BD, and then again in another 24 hours. My doctor said it takes at least 24 hours for sperm to regenerate. AND then I read yesterday that it's a misconseption that you only conceive the day before or after you ovulate...that some woman conceive up to 2-3 days after ovulation. So the more the better in my opinion.

Good luck to you and stay strong. I know exactly how you feel. i just couldn't take it anymore and finally made the decision to stop. It was a difficult decision but I'm feeling better and our marriage is getting back on track. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I did end up having my first IUI last night and have the second tonight. But, honestly I am going to have to take a break after this most likely. I was crying at work yesterday and I just can't be doing that.

I saw your update that you got to do the IUI so I just wanted to wish you good luck. On a side note, I did several IUIs that my DH could not make it to. At first it felt kind of weird but it's not really necessary for him to be there for the actual procedure as long as he can get there to give the sample!
