Hope all goes well for you ! I had mine in May of this year to remove my tubes, scar tissue etc. It wasn't too painful just make sure u sleep with a pillow under your legs and walk around the house. For some reason it felt really good to stand and walk around after the first day or so. Also take the pain meds they give you! I made the mistake of not taking pain mess with another surgery in January that I had and learned the hard way Lol .

I had my lap last summer, at the same time as surgery to remove cervical cancer, and was in considerably less pain in the months afterwards. I really hope you find some relief as well. I had my surgery on a Thursday, took it easy over the weekend, and was back at work Monday. Of course, listen to your body and don't push it. I agree with ematthews- definitely take short, but frequent walks and take the pain meds for the first couple days. This will help with any gas pain you get in your shoulders (weird, but it happens and is uncomfortable.) Other than that, let your hub take care of you and relax. And keep us informed on how it goes. Thanks ladies!! I am really ready an scared at the same time...i dont want endo but i cant seem to get rid of this back pain so i am hoping i get an answer to that an my infertility....An thanks i would have never thought of walking around! An yes i will keep up on pain meds! Ill keep u posted!

Good luck! I haven't had mind yet, but I have a follow up Monday to talk about it. I'm nervous but excited too. I hope they find the cause of your back pain and get it all cleared up!

All the best to you.. I had my first lap this year in March and it was really fine, since you will be on GA, u will know nothing. I had this light difficulty to pee. Make sure that you can take plenty of rest and be ready to stay in bed for 2-3 days , I did take some light walks. The only problem that I faced was when I ate some crap and had really bad stomach pain and gas around 1.5 weeks after the surgery. So just make sure that you eat good, healthy food easy to digest after your surgery. Try not to do any heavy work around the house and It would be nice to have someone around to look after you if possible at this time.

I hope you do find a solution to your problems during the surgery.. I found endo when they did lap for pcos ! sigh!

Eye on the prize. I psyched myself up for my last lap and kept repeating the goals. For you, when you get scared just say 'reduced back pain, answers, baby train.'

I recommend getting a bell or putting a glass with a fork near your bed for that first day so DH knows when to come help.

Also, I recommend laxatives as constipation happens and hurts after a lap.

As for walking, it didn't feel good to me, but does help so just go for it. I walked around my kitchen!

I can tell you from experience it will most certainly reduce your back pain if not make it go away all together. Before I had mine done I had constant lower back pain once I got it done it completley went away and hasn't returned since! Don't be scared you'll be out like a light once they put you to sleep and once you wake up you'll have some discomfort but not too bad. Your pds will be much shorter as mine went from 12 days to 5 days total after so just keep all the good that will come after.

Make sure you have some bland foods to eat. Ifyou take just the pain meds without some light food you will get an upset stomach. I was out of work for a week, and got very sick twice. But that was due to pain meds and no food, and the flu. It was one unlucky week for me! Gas X for the gas pain (i didn't really have any, but it's common) and some stool softner. I don't recommend a laxitive, as that can irritate your stomach, but a softner to do it a little more naturally. Def. stay ahead of the pain w/ the pills, better than catching up. And as for the walking around, don't be scared to take it easy the first few days, and make yourself a nice permanent spot in a recliner or the couch!

Stool softeners are a must, and Nellysgirl is right...stay away from laxatives unless you absolutely need them. Also try coughing when you feel the gas pains coming on. It's weird but it works. Good luck!!

I've had 7 or 8 laps in the past 4 years. I have to say that they were not all equal. Some hurt more than others post op. I know that what helped is when I toke the time off to really recoup. Bleading also really varied from almost nothing to a lot. In my experience you can't really know how it will turn out.
In the end I'm sure it will govwell and you will feel better within a couple of days. I hope everything goes great and that the lap helps yougets one step closer to your baby.

I had my Lap in July. I was super nervous too, but it went fine. They found endo and were able to remove it, but still find no reasons why I am not conceiving. Recovery wasn't too bad. I was much better after 3 days and even went to a wedding. I didn't feel 100% until two weeks later. My belly button took the longest to heal. The only parts that were hard for me were sleeping on my back the first few days and the first time I took a shower, which I did the day after. I would highly recommend having someone with you or near you when you shower. I almost blacked out in the middle of my shower. The doctor said that the combination of recovering, the medication, and the heat from the shower was just too much. I was on Percocet after the surgery. I usually do not react well to that medicine so I only took a half pill every 4 hours and Ibuprofen every 4 hours ( I was alternating every two hours--I would take Percocet and then Ibuprofen after two hours and then Percocet two hours after that) I hope that made sense haha. Of course it is completely up to your comfort/pain level and how you react to medicines. Overall, I am glad that I did it and got some questions answered. I think I was more nervous about what they would find than the surgery itself. Good luck!! You will do great!! I'll definitely be sending a prayer your way!

Hi ladies!! Just an update i am doing good sore but that is a given! I do have endo way more than the doc thought i would have! But he got almost all of it there is some he could get but i am super tired from the pain killers an just staying in bed an being waited on by my Dh! He is the best!! But i have a post op app in 2 weeks an ill do another update! But for now my Percocet is kicking in an so its nap time! Lol thanks to all you ladies for your advice its really helped! Baby dust to all of you we all will get our turn on of these days!!!l

Glad to hear it went well and they cleared out mostly everything! That's great news! I hope that you are all rested and feeling better.

Hi mrsfrog31, I had my lap on 30th of August and I was really nervous. The thing that knocked me around the most were the painkillers (tramadol) and the general anaesthetic (sp?) but I didn't have too much pain from my actual wound sites. I have severe endo and my surgery was quite extensive. Hope that helps you and good luck for tomorrow:-)
