For me my moment of freedom began when I left the country 8 years after leaving home. I needed a sea barrier between us. I can still remember the joy in my walk.

I wish it were that simple, but I have to wait 5 months 'till I can start my journey.
I haven't finished highschool and I go to finish that in June. Aside from that I'm currently not emotionally nor mentally stable enough to work or gain money in any sort of way.
I've been depressed for at least 5 years now, so I'm only learning to deal with that. My dad passed away from cancer. My fiance gave up on me because I was too depressed and apparently dragging her down with me.

OK you have 5 months at least that you have to survive. That's OK - you can. Use you time from now on concentrating on yourself and getting yourself as fit and strong as you can. Elicit the help of people who make you feel good about yourself, and start ignoring those who do not. Avoid your step father as much as possible - don't stay in the same room as him, don't give him the chance to bring you down. I know this is easier said than done, but you can do it. You have enormous strength or you wouldn't have lasted this long. Start using that strength to prepare for a life away from your abuser. Try to shift your focus away from the hurt that was done to you, to the future you want for yourself and work towards that.
