A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.

Hi-my name is Britt. I had a hysterectomy at the age of 26 due to underlying health complications. It's been roughly 2 years since I had the procedure and let me just start off with saying -no one EVER warned me on the struggle of mental mind games it plays on you. For so long I was battling pain and infections, not having one but 2 major surgeries for this issue.. not only has it messed with me emotionally, but also sexually. Since I have had the surgeries, I haven't had to desire to have sex, it has completely changed my marriage. I still have my ovaries and you would of thought that would of helped, but it didnt. I just am not wanting sex. My husband thinks that's a hormone issue, and yeah I can see it being so. Although I don't feel like I need to fix that problem. It's not wrong that I feel this way, it's just there. I don't know I guess I'm just trying to see if anyone feels the same way I do... or if some one knows how I feel. I'm sorry. Thank you for taking the time to read.

I know how you feel. I lost one ovary to cyst exploding but the other was fine when it was removed. I was a mess for a while then discovered Clamara patches. They saved my sanity. Mood was good and I want sex! Only problem now is I am not with the same dr and don't get the patches anymore so the need for lube is much greater.
Give the natural hormone patches a try. Two months or three and it can change your life for the better.
