Amour dosing

I started on 30 units of Armour last week. My doc (nurse prac actually) wants me back in 3 months with lab results, sticking with that same dose the whole time. I read the company website and this is not how to say to dose- that most people need at least 60 units.
i called the office and was told that this is how they treat all their patients- that many patients do fine with just 30 units for life. She did mention that if I'm not feeling well, we could run results a little sooner.
I'm really feeling nervous about this office since what they say runs contrary to the manufacturer's dosing directions. I'm worried they are going to really underdose me. I don't know if it's best to stick it out or go through my new primary care who would probably want to switch me from Armour. Ugggg!!!
Does anybody out there do well with just 30 units? Better to be underdosed on Armour or switch to Synthroid?

Well, no, but I'm not planning on going back anyway. I was diagnosed when my GYN sent me to get labs done after my yearly checkup due to dome symptoms we discussed, and when her office called with the results, they just said "go see your pcp." So I did. She was pretty much useless. At that point I had been doing research on hypothyroidism for all of 2 days, and I felt like she knew less about it than I did. She put me on 50 mcg of levothyroxine and said to come back in 3 months *rolls eyes*.

So, I've been on the levo for 2 1/2 weeks now and I am feeling a tiny bit better, but I'm definitely looking for a new doc. I think Dr. Amy Brenner and Dr. Theodore J Cole are my top 2 choices. They are both located in West Chester. I plan to give Dr. Brenner's office a call to set up an appt. in a couple of weeks.

Still listing ..... That is a shame you read people wrong "ignore"is a good option? I use it a lot and have found it works great on here. Been told there are twins or triplets coming out here is why I mentioned it. Smile and take care....as long as I get emails telling me 'positive' feedback I can use what I have learned to help newbies with logical info.
