Hyperhidrosis Support Group
Primary hyperhidrosis is the condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. Some patients afflicted with the condition experience a distinct reduction in the quality of life. Sufferers feel at a loss of control because perspiration takes place independent of temperature and emotional state.
I am also new, just joined a few days ago.
Do you also sweat on hands and feet? I have hands feet and underarms HH. One can be more annoying than other parts in different situations.
I think Hyperhidrosis is affected by nerve, and also temperature and climate and other things. Nerve for me is the hardest one to handle, as i start sweating when i get nervous, and i am nervous because i don't want to sweat, so it's like a cycle.
I have now learned how to stop the sweating and basically trying to keep dry the whole day . During winter it is easier, and summer not so easy.
There must be some times when you are dry, like when you are sleeping? And then what makes you start to sweat?
Should be not too bad just sweating on one part of the body. I think you need to practice not being nervous. Just try being with the guy you like more until you are comfortable with him.
Will seeing him in a cold night help? Maybe that would be a good start
Yes i heard propantheline but hasn't tried it.
I tried some cream to apply on the hands and feet, but didn't do anything. So i stopped searching for cure and just try to control it.
Just look weird as i wear sandals even in cold winter, but better than sweating. I can still sweat during winter when accidentally my feet get wet because of rain water, and it becomes really cold. Have to hurry home to get hot shower to stop the sweat.
I think you shouldn't avoid the dates, the more you go the more comfortable you will be. Maybe try to go with some guys you don't really have feelings for, just for practice before going with the one you really like.
With the whole dating thing I just don't know what way to go with that. The only thing about what you suggested is I wouldn't want to lead anyone on or anything like that. I would love to tell people about my condition but I just don't think they'd understand how serious it is or they may think I'm weird. How do you deal with HH and dating?
So water triggers the sweating for your hands and feet?
I share your struggle. Like you said I do not want to manage my sweating, I want it to go away. My biggest problem is that I smell bad within 1-2 hrs of sweating. I have tried everything but nothing works. Its depressing. Any suggestions?
I would smell within minutes if the clothes i wear is not loose or i forgot to use deodorant.
How i deal with dating? I think my HH is a downside for my overall attraction to women, so i take care of my skin and my body, and i work hard to earn more money, and try to be nicer than other men. So those things help improve what i am lacking from HH.
I worried a lot on the first date especially, but turned out ok. No holding hands were fine, wore black shirt and went to the cinema where it's dark, and we had a great time.
I confessed about HH to some, including my wife when we were dating then. Most of them think it's no big deal. It's the people you are not close with are the ones more likely to have negative reaction to it.
Mine is on my face and on my head. I tried acupuncture and it worked for awhile, but not anymore. Nothing is helpful.
We have a family wedding at the end of this month. It will be outside.
It is hot here now so I am worried. I don't want to go,but it is my husband's niece and I probably have to.
My brother inlaw thinks the sweating is funny and laughs at me.
My Mum had it too.
I feel so ashamed.
Is your sweating triggered by heat and feeling nervous?
Have you tried certain dri? I use that and it works better than any other over the counter antiperspirant. You put it on at night and use regular deodorant during the day.
