Hyperhidrosis Support Group
Primary hyperhidrosis is the condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. Some patients afflicted with the condition experience a distinct reduction in the quality of life. Sufferers feel at a loss of control because perspiration takes place independent of temperature and emotional state.
I wanted to ask how is sweating when u do sports or some physical activity when u use Rubinol. Does it help sweat less when u are doing sports ?
now i do want to give an update even though it hasn't been a month yet since i started taking Rubinol. today i had to meet with a lawyer. now i was nervous about meeting with her because i wasn't sure what i was getting into. so anyway, i noticed that my hands were warm and moist instead of warm and dry since starting Rubinol. this made me feel embarrassed but i still needed to shake hands hello with her. so she got a warm , moist handshake. at the end of our meeting, i felt a bit more relaxed and so when we shoke hands good- bye, my hands were halfway dry.
so, during everyday activities like driving, receiving change back from a cashier, wearing my flip flops OUTSIDE- i have been nice and dry and felt comfortable. when i was nervous, that's when my hands were moist, but not dripping puddles.
so when i do a follow up visit with my new dermatologist, i'm going to tell her my results and ask her to increase the milligrams to 2mg twice a day.
HH is a such a weird condition- try moving your times around and see if something works better for you.
Above all, I say ETS! Life Changing!
Okay, so I went to the Dermatologist today and she upped my mg to
2 mg twice a day. I will give you an update in about a week to let you know how it's going.
I understand that you want to say that ETS is the best, but there are soooo many people on here that say ETS was a bad choice because the compensatory sweating is actually worse than the actual HH.
I have been prescribed pro-banthine for 7 years.

OK so i've been taking 2mg of Rubinol twice a day for about a month now. it feels absolutely WONDERFUL not to have to worry about HH. i feel like a normal person now. i will tell u that Rubinol does not stop emotional sweat or if it's humid outside, but Drysol does. so what u can do is take Rubinol for the HH sweating and on occasion, or during the Spring and Summer months also use topical Drysol. so that is what i'm trying. i'll let u know in about a month or so how using the Drysol on top of taking Rubinol works for emptional sweating and humidity during the warm months. My Dermatologist said i could use this combo for the rest of my life. It's safe. I am happy. :)
Do you take the Robinul (Glycopyrrolate) with or without food? I have to take 2 mg - twice daily but either at least 1 hour before eating or 2 hours after eating. If I take the Robinul too close to eating then its efficacy is greatly reduced. Other than this restriction the Robinul works very well to decrease my sweating. It's good to hear it's working for you as well.
Any lingering side effects? My side effects diminished after about 6 weeks of use.
I will update you all later.
I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner..
Hey, I didn't know about not taking the Glycopyrrolate with food. Thanks!! I had no idea, and my Dermatologist said nothing. She probably doesn't even know.
Thank u so much for telling me that.
So since you can not take it with food..at what times do you take it?
I wake up pretty early and eat breakfast everyday, so I will have to start taking this pill before I go to bed then.
How long do you space out the medication then?
(I take 2mg 2x per day).
The side effect that I experience is dry mouth, but I just carry around Gatorade or bottled water with me. No big deal. I did used to experience head-aches and tiredness, but I'm pretty much over those.
So what side effects did you experience? How long have u been suffering from HH? Where do you experience HH? Does anyone in your family have it?
I hope to hear from u soon,
Ghost
