No HPV will usually clear itself up. Very few women actually get cancer or have any other problems from it. HIV is the one that never goes away & turns into AIDs. You're probably fine now since you're doctor said you were.

I was also under that impression as well, Ive had the same procedure for cin 3 cells but they call it Lets over here in oz and I have more possible low grade cells so Im not sure

HPV CAN clear its self from the body. Some people it stays for years and some people only a few months. It is a virus but so is the flu. The body eventually just gets rid of it and you are all back to normal. But it is different for everyone. Just keep going back and get tested for it when you have your regular pap so you can make sure. Dont forget you can get it more then once and there are of 30 different strains...

i had a major series of outbreaks when i was initially diagnosed in 1999. months worth of horrible pain and procedures. what happened after that was i got a job i loved, broke up with a boyfriend that was unhealthy, and completely changed my life. i found out things i was allergic to, i stopped taking antibiotics, i started doing yoga, i quit drinking for 2 years, i got a dog and started going for walks, and have taken immune boosting supplements ever since. obviously a dog-walk doesn't cure hpv! but the combination of those things helped me turn my life around and i have NEVER had a second outbreak. i didn't get an abnormal pap until 2005, but i have had one normal pap since then and have my fingers crossed for the next one. (i'm waiting for the results) i know it sounds like black magic, and a little goofy, even to me, but the bottom line is, your brain has the power to tell your body to fight disease. so start thinking about winning that fight. you need to spend more energy thinking about overcoming hpv than the energy you spend being scared about having it. does that make sense? feel free to write me. you can do this!

-And I wonder if it matters what type/ strain you have ? I assume since certain strains have higher chance of cervical cancer, then are there there certain stains that have a higher chance or reaccuring ? Does anyone know ?

So much speculation and I heard someone say this, and that... please be careful about what you post on here in the form of sound medical knowledge. Remember there are fragile people on these boards who've just been diagnosed. They will look for and cling to any positive piece of info they can read, like people saying they're cured, or know it only lasts this long, ect... your unknowledgeable comments may do more harm than good.

mollymalone - its good to hear there are ways to take care of this that are mental and not just medical. Most Immune problems are really lifestyle issues. I am trying to iron my stress levels and need to reduce my intake of coffee and alcohol to get rid of this! it would be nice to stay posted on people who are choosing this path as a attempted cure. Also I assume most people understand that this is not medical advise these forums are really just supportive and a community to not feel like you are alone.

I too had an abnormal but back in 2001. I was diagnosed with mild dysplasia and cin1. I had two leep procedures. After each followup they were normal, then subsequently abnormal. I'm happy to hear that you tested negative for HPV. I have still tested positive. I'm hanging in but I don't know what the doctor will recommend since I've already had two leep procedures. By the way, has anyone's doctor recommended hysterectomy has a possible cure???

a hysterectomy is not a cure for hpv because hpv lives in your skin...Hpv can be lived with...You can still have children and the main concern with hpv is that you just get checked regularly for cervical cancer...Its soo common that I hope you wouldnt want to give up the chance of children just because you have hpv...I personally dont want children but a hysterectomy is such a unnecessary procedure for hpv...esspecially when your still testing negative for cervical cancer...This isnt meant to sound harsh and I dont even know if thats where you were going with your statement..but know that hpv should not change your life dramatically...Yes its hard and its difficult to tell your partners but its not a death sentence

HPV will clear up, but if you continue to have unprotected sex with multiple partners you can get it over and over again. Each time you get it you can get a different strain of it. You may get a more severe strain one time and then a "not" so severe strain, but it is a precursor to cervical cancer so be careful out there.

Well i agree with MichealjamesNYC. i agree with him because when i joined this community i was looking for asnwers to questions. Some of these post are very incorrect and some are not. For anybody looking to this site for answers to their questions i would say ask a professional not anyone else. Because we all are different and the way your body heals maynot be the same as another person.

I think that if you feel posts are incorrect you should try and correct them with information to back up your facts...Its just as bad to let people going on believeing something they hear if you know its incorrect. I dont know anyone using this website as a scare tactic...and yes healing is different for everyone but this is where you come to learn from other persons experiences...and i will be the first to tell you and most likely not the last to say that doctors are not always right. Talking to others and finding out how they are dealing with such things can be more support then a doctor can give you...but please if you are reading incorrect information let the person know..that way they dont pass it on to others...you never know..they could have gotten that information from their doctor.

yes i understand that not all doctors is right everyone knows that because they're only human the main point im trynna make is that you cant connect everybodies experience to your own.
and when i say i AGREE with him i mean that the things that some may not know and they're posting it as response may scare sum people more than bring confort.
