Thanks for the feeback.
For me, pain doesn't cause high blood pressure. I was overweight, and had severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and terrible pain for many years. Then I lost weight, got good meds and got the RA under control, and started exercising regularly. After 4 years it went up, and I can only keep it down with meds. So go figure. This is my worst problem, because I don't know why, and I can't see to overcome without help.
OK, here I go again........my blood pressure is higher than it should be.....I go to the gym every morning......I am not taking any meds except GNC 50+ womens supplements and a couple of other supplements.........as well as Wellbutrin (300 mgs) for depression.
Recently a test showed that my thyroid is a little low.
I am told that who I am as far as the age number doesn't match the body I'm lliving in. Can somebody tell me if they have experienced what I am dealing with now. If so, what did they do about it short of taking the usual Rx meds?????? Joanie
I started 50mg daily Cozaar about five years ago to replace ealier treatment for high BP with Lisinopril. Over the five years I have been pleased and able to enjoy outoor physical activities like walks with a back-pack. However, much to my surprise, after all this time I have unexpectedly had dizzy lightheadedness, simultaneous nausea and checked in with my GP who has taken me off the drug. Dizzyness is reported as a well known side effect but I am just surprised that it has taken so long to manifest itself in my case. Maybe its only with prolonged use that the drug builds up in my body to reach a threshold where it causes problems? Who knows?
Anyway, my doc has now replaced Cozaar and she has given me a combination of statins and Bendroflumethiazide.
Me again witha comment on high BP and headaches.
I saw my GP (unusually, as I often manage many months without!) and asked for a BP check as I was feeling dizzy. I mentioned a headache and she categorically told me that current medical thinking is that high BP is not considered a cause for headache. She gave me a reading of 144/82 and suggested that the headache might be entirely run-of -the-mill but the pain of the headache had pushed up my BP as a response. My medication for BP has been changed to relieve dizzy attacks with Bendroflumethiazide in the morning and simavastin at night.. I have to go back for a follow-up BP and blood check in four weeks so watch this space for feedback.
