My BP has been well controlled for the last several months. This week, i started to have feeling of a hot flushed face. Took my BP when I got home from work and it was 150/92. The next day at work, I began to get the hot cheeks again and it was 160/92. I have been taking a beta blocker and lisinipril for 5 months.
My questions are
I have been under a lot of stress at work. So I am thnking that is causing the spikes. The stress is not going to end anytime soon.
Other issue is, the temperatures have been in the 90's. I noticed that if I get hot, I definatley don't feel well. Does a high temperature cause your BP to rise or fall??
I would appreciate any advice.

In the other hand it is normal to have an spike if you get stress or a discussion, the point is how long the spike last.

I have been taking losartan 50 mg daily, my bp usually running below 115/79.
But I noticed that when I am anxious, tired at work and lack of sleep, or simply unable to sleep, my bp goes up to 118-85 or 90 plus occasional light headedness.
Its something like a cycle.
Try to get quality rest and sleep and meditation in the morning or before bed.
It took me several times to figure out how the stress was increasing my anxiety and my blood pressure was going up to help reduce the anxiety.
Separating the physical symptoms and relaxation movements will help you lower the spikes of anxiety and blood pressure. To lower the blood pressure, the movement should be gentle, more like a massage of the tense area of the face, and this should help you feel less overwhelmed.
I hope this helps.
