Hey everyone, I'm new.
I've had HS for a few years now (never officially diagnosed as I have no insurance but I can't see what else it could be) and I never recall having any skin issues until I started wearing "clinical strength" deodorant. I stopped wearing deodorant period after the issues began, but I've been dealing with the aftermath ever since.
Does anyone else feel like there was a certain thing that first triggered this? It seems odd to me that it could be started like that, and I can't help but wonder if I would be fighting this right now if I had never started wearing that stuff.

I haven't been diagnosed technically with HS, but I feel my symptoms correlate strongly with this. For me, I also though my initial trigger was a spider bite - lesion literally was painful for about a month! Afterwards, I get these boil-like lesions in my groin area, on my butt or inner thighs. I just got 2! today, and its like wtf damnit. Anyways, my job requires me to dress professionally so I'm wearing shirt/tie/dress pants usually. If it is a humid day and I sweat - especially in the groin area, and the sweat just kinda gets trapped in that general area for the day due to the boxers, tucked in shirt and the pants, i know I'm in for some fun for the next week. Luckily I live in the North East and most of our weather is winter-like so that's why my HS hasn't been terrible for the most part, but I'm pretty sure its sweat related (at least for me).

Honestly, I never had anything happen till I bought a tight underwire padded bra. After that bra things went downhill for my armpits.

Mine was triggered when I changed my deodorant brand after years of using the same one.
