day 2 of using my emuaid on the whole area and the itch is gone and draining has happened on 2 areas that have been swollen for months! so far i am liking this stuff.....just not the smell of it!

We do not know how the ointment interacts with your own body but as far as what you're smelling in the product, it is a combination of tea tree oil as well as lactobacillus ferment which is a by-product of fermenting the Lactobacillus bacterium. ok morning of day 3 of Emuaid---I have the one large area where my labia has been swollen and even cracked down the skin NOTHING has ever drained from this area....until this morning!!! OH MY the relief was awesome!! I am giving credit to the emuaid because i havent changed anything else that I am taking or doing so.....

I am now about 2-3 weeks back on Turmeric in a capsule of 750 mg twice a day that also has cherry, black pepper, ginger) 2 a day and I'm really seeing tremendous difference, although it does get worse before it gets better because I had 3 weeks of constant draining, bleeding from my perineum/perirectal area and broke down and bought myself disposable pull-ups to wear :( So now I'm seeing tremendous improvement as turmeric takes about 6 weeks to really get into your system and start working. I've actuallyhad periods of remission on turmeric but I ran out and had to get off it due to finances. I'm going to try like hell to avoid that in the future as I need remission!! I'm also taking 50 mg zinc gluconate daily. What has happned is my skin is starting to heal but with scars that make it really uncomfortable, like my skin feels very tight down there. So I'll update on the Emuaid as after applying it about 20 minutes ago, it is very soothing to my raging and aggravated skin. I've been experiencing a lot of itching lately and I know that is from the healing and I believe the Emuaid will help that as well. The odor of Emuaid does not turn me off..it's the tea tree oil...which alone is a wonderful thing in itself. It smells a little like turpentine but it's really not a bad smell to me.

I waited a bit before posting another update.

So far the itch relief has been a constant with the Eumaid.
It has not, as yet, opened any areas to drain (applying twice a day..thinking of going up to three) and one area that was opened actually closed up and began to refill with "junk".
The open wound on the inside of my leg (upper thigh area) is slowly healing. Actually it is healing faster than other open areas that I have chosen to not put the Eumaid on. So I am grateful for that.
Steph, how often are you applying the Eumaid, and are you covering those areas or leaving them uncovered??

Fantastic to hear that Emuaid is helping all of you! The company is working on a larger jar which will be less expensive per ounce.

I think Emuaid is the best topical treatment for this condition I've used yet. Now a bad spot that always is inflammed but would never open and drain has been draining...what a relief. Still not sure if it's the Emuaid or the turmeric..but things are very much improved. I will probably keep that appointment with the dermatologist end of July just to see what she suggests.

Dus, happy to see ya back. It wasn't the same while you were away. You, Amber, Shannon, Tange & everyone have helped me so much over the past few years to get a grip on myself with HS. I found relief in knowing someone else really knows...thank y'all for sharing.

I just finished my first Emuaid Trial Research Evaluation. It's been two weeks and I've used it every day. The first week I only used it twice a day a little dab here and there with no results. The second week I increased to four times a day and applied much more with better results. It seems to be a nice mixture of ingrediants that we've used seperately. Not to heavy for a topical. To soon to call after only two weeks, everything helps for a while. Looking for something lto help us ong-term. Happy for Emuaids' willingness to try and help us and hope they will be able to.
