I went looking for the thread we had on the EMUAID trial (albeit not really hard cause I am at work right this second) couldn't find it, but I wanted to ask a question or two and see what others are doing and how it is working for them.
1. How are you applying EMUAID? Are you just slathering it on several times a day or are you covering the areas you cover with EMUAID with a bandage of any kind?
2. Are you seeing any fading of discoloration of old spots (you know, the purply or areas of darkened skin where HS has affected the area). Our contact Monica told me yesterday that some of their people in the trial are finding that spots like these are lightening up for them.
3. How many of us on here that are using EMUAID are having spots open and drain? I haven't yet had one open for me on it's own, but then again I am just putting the stuff on with no bandaging over it or anything and just applying it to all my spots 3 or 4 times a day.
I just wanted to get everyone's take on this stuff. Although I haven't had any open up and drain for me, yet, the itch relief has been a god send, and I do have less inflammation and swelling since using it. I would love to see one of these buggers open and drain for me though..lol

I'm on Emuaid and haven't seen anything posted either.
1. I don't cover my spots but do slather it on four times a day.
2. My scars have not faded in color but are softer.
3. None of my spots have opened or drained.
I've not noticed any less itch and am having real bad flares now so nothing is really helping.

I started the Emuaid "Open Trial" almost three months ago and am very pleased with the company. They have been very helpful and understanding. We are excited that they have taken interest in our HS community and are hopeful their study will be a step toward a cure for our cause.
As we all know, everyone is different and has some things that work better for them than others. If a topical cream/gel is what can help your issues Emuaid is a good one.
My current issues haven't been helped by any topical products. I have more new areas all the time so I will keep trying.

I saw that ad for EmuAid on here, and I thought hey....I have never tried it, never heard of it...there are testimonials from "other HS sufferers". I bought it. My husband said you know Jenn, the doctors say there is no cure, no solution for you other than surgery, it is a sham. FOR ME IT WAS....I feel like an idiot for "believing there add". I feel like such an idiot I did not even return and ask for a refund...they like idiots who believe them and dont ask for money back.
Again, I found this site/support group after 12 years and 18 surgeries...I assume if you are here that perhaps you suffer as I do. For years I would make jokes about the skin condition (what else can you do, it is so horrid) if someone told me to eat 5lbs of broccoli a day I d be a broccoli loving MF'er....
I used it under the breast and woudl hold them up and lay on the bed for awhile. Then eventually would put the creme on and then use the waterproof and then eventually gauze bandages.
The EmuAid did NOT do anyting to stop them from forming. It did NOT "help them along to pop sooner" to relieve the pressure. It did NOT speed the heal time....for ME.
Again....15 years Ive had it, 18 surgeries (one was skin graphs under both arms which was an epic FAIL because I get them on the graph scar line AND the other two areas on the body this afflicts).
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON EMUAID. DO NOT BE LIKE ME, ASK FOR YOUR REFUND. DO NOT BELIEVE THE CHARLATAN.
The only thing that somewhat helps me is tea tree oil and changing the gauze dressings. It stinks AND stings, but it speeds the length and healing for ME.
If you have tried damn near everything including things I shouldnt mention, my surgeon would be very mad....and they keep coming no matter what you have tried including surgery and other means...dont even bother. That is MY experience with EmuAid.
Other than that...the only thing I have found EMUAID to do...STAIN YOUR CLOTHING. Black clothing not so much, but anything else you wind up looking like you have serious pit stains, and it don't wash out either, also tried a spray n wash type stuff to try to get it out..didn't work. So I'm covering the areas with a bandage when I have to wear something I don't want messed up.
I had hoped for a little more from EMUAID, but thankfully had not gotten my hopes up so high that I would be devastated when it didn't help.
Ah well, back to the drawing board. At least they were willing to try to help us with a free clinical trial of the product.
