This woman was probably told by a 12 stepper somewhere to stop "enabling" and keeping him from freezing to death on the street wasn't going to help him, but was in fact going to make his "disease" worse.

Maybe the idiot who's been giving you advice will be there to help you grieve. I doubt it though. Will more than likely give you some 12 step statistic as a platitude and disappear.

He's got an illness. Find what works or don't bother but take responsibility for your actions or lack thereof.
