Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Then there is the friend that actually introduced me to this guy...we've been friends since the 80s, and used to spend a lot of time together, and as friends do, we shared desserts, etc. When she found out about the hep., she stopped sharing desserts.
Those little things can be hurtful, but it's just ignorance.

According to one of my scripts, YES- there is a coorelation between ignorant, insensitive peope and their SKANKINESS... If my memory serves me correctly- it is a ratio of 1 to 1... Just sayin'.....

When my brother had a liver scare over the Holidays, he asked me if perhaps he caught my HCV. I explained how it is contracted and let him know if his DR thought he had the C, they would test for it. He only had a non serious thing on his liver and all is well today.
Times like these are def great a time to educate the "dumb masses".
Going to meet my Hepatologist in an hour. I would hate to vomit on her feet and get her shoes all skanky. I really haven't had significant nausea until just now. Feeling a wee bit skanky.
