Why is this article so outdated? It is almost 3 years old. Sound like from your reply on my post " very scary encounter" that you are more disappointed maybe even a drop angry ( pretty scary avatar lol) than physically hurt. You mention in your reply in the post that you were sorry you ever tried the treatment because it "devastated your body" ,can you elaborate on this? Do you think you would feel the same way if the tx would have worked? Unfortunately the old tx yielded at best 45 to 50 % cure rate. It's not too late is it? Goldy

Sorry about the avatar Goldy. It's from our trip to Universal Studios. I'll change it tomorrow. My last four months of tx was spent in bed sleeping day and night very anemic and all my muscles atrophied. Three years later I am just getting my strength back. I believe this article because I have unexplained neurological problems that started when my liver enzymes went up and I found out I had hep c. The virus came back even worse than before. I feel myself mentally deteriorating slowly. I wasn't scared until now.

IMHO...we are all a lil scared....we are all trying & fighting...whether we did Tx...are doing Tx...or are waiting...I appreciate your posts Wes...I appreciate your thoughts and your concerns...Your posts open up a whole avenue of conversation between me & my family....I appreciate that!!!

@bika - a likely reason it's 'only' 4 out of 10 is because of the blood-brain barrier.

For me - I "just know" but I suppose that's what all that research is about.

The articles that were posted here about the BRAIN being involved with HCV I find to be like some People suspect, a possible misconception and are BOTH outdated. One link shows an early 2009 article almost 3 years old. The other (dejavu) is dated 2011 but also says "for the FIRST TIME ever they have discovered". interestingly on the 2011 article, it talks about how discovering an ENZYME to combat this problem could address this problem. Another words in talks about the triple tx enzyme inhibitors we have now like there not available yet. This second article must be also several years old but just reprinted 2011.

Now at least when my wife calls me a dumb schmuck I can tell her it's from my newly called hepa-brainiac-itis !!
