You were on tiple tx, right? maybe it's the incivik that causes this problem.
Before tx when I had hard time with sleep, I would count down until my mind forgets the annoying problem or whatever is preventing my mind from relaxing.
@Arabella1, Next time I'll try your idea. Thanks.
Sleep deficiency is caused by Riba. Although it has a short half life, the Riba takes a while to completely leave the bidy, upto 6 mos at times.
You are off tx a short while, give yourself a break. You also took Victrelis if I am correct, so there were alot of drugs in your system for along time....be patient sweetheart.
Refrain from caffiene after 11am, try mediating as suggested, listen to soft music, read the Bible or another book of spirituality.
When your mind begins to race, make a conscious effort to change your thoughts, because you CAN!
A sleep aid w Dr's approval is helpful when needed....
Continue Drink your water. It's a lifetime commitment. Our bodies are 65- 80% water...so drink for good health!
Take a warm not hot bath before bed.
No noise for 20 min before bed.
Deep focusedPrayer...on or to whatever or whomever.
Tell your Dr and call the hotlines for the meds to inform themof these post sx's. Our tx does not end once we finish the drugs. It "ends" @ 6 mos post tx SVR.
It really never ends, tho....at least that is in my honest opinion....
hugs betsy.... Thinking of you friend oxo janet

Some sleep their lives away on tx, I wanted to be one of those!!!!
I find now, when I over do it and my body is so tired, I will toss and turn and turn on my Sirius radio to the spa channel but still I lay there. I'm off tx for a year this month. Fortunately I did not have to work during tx. U r doing better than u think! Working full time etc...... It will be over shortly!!!
PS my mind just races too,,,then the next day, everything I worried about while trying to sleep did NOT even matter at all!
I took pills -mostly benzodiazepines - for years, but they were creating other problems so I slowly weaned off last year.
By the way, I've done TWO sleep studies where they hook you up to all of the machines and watch you sleep all night. BOTH tests showed my sleep as being near-normal.
So now I just do everything I can to relax, and accept whatever sleep I can get. I'm assuming that when I'm off these meds and my liver gets back to normal, there's no reason why my sleep shouldn't normalize...
After the two near-normal sleep studies, the docs said I have something called "sleep-state misperception", where your brain doesn't think you're sleeping but you really are. At first I thought those guys are quacks, but two studies at different labs said the same thing.
Once I accepted that, my sleep slowly improved. Just had to power through it and "train" the brain to sleep again. It'll improve once the tx is over :-)
I miss my angel.
PS I had sleep problems for a couple weeks after tx, I blamed it on interferon withdrawal, since INF causes fatigue. Feeling OK now though..
