Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Nice to meet you all
you are in my prayers , daily.
take care luv Wendy xx
My liver biopsy revealed no damage & inflammation is low(2 on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest). I am 50 y/o recovering alcoholic/addict.
Haven't a clue how virus was contracted. No transfusions or needle use. Waiting for next biopsy result(2 years from 2/2008) and/or alternative treatments to come to market or if future biopsy show significant progression of damage & inflammation.
I also was diagnosed with schizo-effective disorder in 1997 that I successfully treat with medication. I am on SSDI, I have 2 kids, 11 & 19, divorced in 96, live in the Denver metro area.
Have a wonderful evening my friends.
Love & Respect to all.

I am now on my 22 shot.VL started @ 2.7 mil.as of my 12 week check, it was down to 7500.
Not real knowlegeable about this disease, but I know what it is like to have it.
Always glad to meet others with hep c.I thought I was the only one, until I found DS.
Thank God for this site and for all of the precious people I have befriended here.
My buddy, Mckenzie, you've helped me more than you can know. Thank you :)
Did 56 weeks of tx May to april 2007 , Non-responder, still looking for a cure, best wishes for all you on tx,
I'm Erin, and I am new to this website, and this whole thing in general!
I was just diagnosed about 4 months ago, and basically am still flailing in the dark regarding my whole situation. I know my viral count was at 800,000 (around there) but I am not sure exactly which genotype it is....I know my doc said it is one of the harder types to treat. I will find out next time I see him for sure. He also detected autoimmune hepatitis which makes him hesitant to try to treat the hep c. Anyways, I am just trying to figure this site out, and hopefully this forum will be helpful to me, it is difficult for me to share how scared I really am with anyone around me, including my family.....
love this site and everyone on it as i've learned so much and everyone is supportive, caring and loving. coming here everyday or so helps to keep me grounded so i don't spin off into space.
not sure how i got it and now i know it doesn't matter, but i prob. got it snorting cocaine or when i had my wisdom teeth out in the late seventies? or who knows?
hugs and love, Q
