Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I would like for everyone who has hep c, did treatment, or not, those who cannot do tx, does who relapse, ect...where you at with your hep c situation.

Liver is starting to look "unhealthy"
I start Pegasys and Rib on Dec 19th.
The best of luck on whatever route it takes for you to minimize the sides of this hideous virus, or eventually get rid of it for good through new treatments in the near future.

Treatment started 2/20/08,last shot 10/1/08
total 33 shots,on treatment 7 months.
I was supposed to stay on the treatment for 48 weeks but my doctor took me off treatment due to complications like neutropenic fever and severe anemia.
Status: undetected.

Geno type 1A, VL 990,000 , Just had my first liver Biopsy. I have not satrted treatment yet. Supposed to start in Jan. I have not seen my GI since August because of Gastric bypass. I have lost 65lbs and am walking 45 minutes on treadmill daily. They wanted me to get in shape before starting shots. I am not sure I am happy with doc. I just had my Biopsy Wednesday and called today to set up appointment to get this thing rolling and they can not see me un til Jan 21st. Ant way I am happy healthy and anxious to kick this damn virus in the you know what!
