I just lost my health insurance. very stressful. I think we should all have access to healthcare. I think it's very important. I don't think either party will fix healthcare. I vote for the party the that will mess it up less. If you agree with me you should go out and vote. If you don't I think you should sit this one out.
ACA is a huge piece of legislation and there, of course, is much room for improvement. I've certainly seen it change lives already and seen a few lives changed forever in death due to not having needed coverage. Very discouraging to hear the challenges that you are experiencing I'm trying to sign up for it and keep the doctors that you want. Obama made a mistake in promising people can keep all of their doctors. That's impossible to predict with managed care and medical groups. Does your state not have their own exchange website? California was one of the few states that set up their pen marketplace website to shop around and it never had enrollment problems. We also have 10% of the U.S. population. There are insurance brokers, many of them, that are ACA certified here that you can call that will do it all for you. They do it without fees and guide you to the best options with your individual needs and cost concerns. California is cutting edge though in many ways I know and San Diego is a healthcare and managed care capital basically being one of the pilot cities for HMOs since back in the day.
I will reiterate this though. Prior to this year, obtaining your own insurance in this fashion would've been impossible with pre-existing HCV. Here, people had to wait 6 months to a year to get on major risk insurance programs and I've seen monthly premiums over $1,000.00! Absurd. Sometimes that high just git a Medigap policy covering the 20% that Medicare did not cover. I'd recommend keeping on the horn to the health assisters on the line and put them to work for you. Just don't vote against your economic interests maybe? But the white wealthy ultra millionaires and billionaires love your vote. Keep them rich and wonder why the middle class is shrinking like the polar caps.
