For some people the insurance company will probably only pay for 8 weeks.
It would be great if Gilead did the "one price" subscription. It would make it easier.
My doctor would not prescribe Sovaldi and Olysio. He did not feel that there was enough information and he wanted me to wait for this drug because of it's excellent SVR rates in the trials. He participated in the trials so he knew about Harvoni and felt that it was my best shot (no pun intended). I would have had to switch doctors to get Olysio and I didn't want to do that.

It's funny the attitude toward trials. I supposed it's based on number of participants. The Sovaldi/Olysio was relatively small compared to the Sovaldi/Ledipasvir (Harvoni) one.
My nurse said the RT results for Sovaldi/Olysio are still very good but are turning out to be not as good as trial results. On the other hand she is enthusiastic about Sovaldi/Ledipasvier (Harvoni) but hey .. all they have are trial results for that one so far no??? lol

They were doing the Harvoni trial when I was at the NIH and the doctors there were concerned about the 8 weeks. We talked about the drugs and the good results, but it is all statistics at this point. You are either 100% cured or you are 100% not.

Well a year from now we will be able to comment on our own personal real world results. So far so good, only a few relapsers but many at SVR12. Fingers crossed for us all :)

Starting Harvoni on Monday..arrived here yesterday.Something new, 95,000 dollars for a 12 week treatment, comes in bottles of 28, I guess I get another one in a month. Doc and me gonna break the seal on this bottle together... AM I THE ONLY ONE?
