Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

I spoke with my Dr.'s office this afternoon. The second set of labs is back and the news is not good. After 24 weeks of treatment, five months as undetectable and in just over two weeks after completing TX, my viral load is 215,000. The treatments didn't work. I'll meet with my Dr. when I get back from my trip and see what my options are.

Checking in...I am in Senegal for a mission trip. Things are going well here and is sure easy to forget about all the Hep stuff when over here!

Someone asked what other drugs I was on during TX. With the exception of ambien...none. I will let you all know what decisions are made after I get back next Monday.

moussa, so sorry to here that, please don't give up. Maybe the newer tx's will do good for you, please don't leave us! I hate it when I hear this happening to us heppers, WE WILL KILL THIS DRAGON!!
