The springy mambo bass lines Cachao created in the late 1930s simultaneously driving and playful became a foundation of modern Cuban music, of the salsa that grew out of it, and also of Latin-influenced rock n roll and rhythm-and-blues. For much of the 20th century, Cachaos innovations set the world dancing.

Every other Cuban music album owes much to the Lopez brothers and both brothers earned multiple Grammy's in latin music.

Israel also introduced to the music world a genre of Cuban music that was once rarely known to many and eventually became wildly popular in Latin America because of it's Afro-Cuban roots.

The Genre is called "Descarga" and it's heavily influenced from Santeria which is what the slaves many years before their independence practiced as a religion which still practiced today widely in Cuba. Anyone who is familiar with Santeria can easily recognize the homage and praise given to the deity's like: Chango, Ochun, Yemeya etc.

Robert Wyatt, Ry Cooder and the rest of the newcomers of Cuban music know who to give praise to: Cachao! even all of the Buena Vista Social Club members gave praise to Cachao!
If you want to listen to the quintessential Cuban music of the 20th and the 21st century, then Cachao es el mejor del mundo!

I don't look @ Faux news. However, I do know word verbatim what the words in every song written that's been recorded in La Buena Vista Social Club. Can you understand every word in every song in the album? I'll even make it easy for you, what does the title of the song El cuarto de Tula mean? And if you answer that correctly, then translate the lyrics to all the songs. That shouldn't be hard for you at all if you know the Cuban language. And I'm not talking about Spanish. I mean la Boca de Cuba!

I've got 7 bloods running through my veins that I'm aware of. Surely more for all of us if we go back far enough. I hope to make it to Harvoni some day but I have a long travel list ahead of me. I've enjoyed a few Cuban restaurants that I've been to before in L.A. and the food but my experience is extremely limited to say the least.
