Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

I understand what you are saying about being at peace with having either virus. I know that stress can bring on an out break of herpes which only causes discomfort to the possessor of the virus but makes it active and there fore contagious. ie; able to jump species, if you are into that kind of stuff...lol. BUT...herpes can't kill you.!.! Hep can. If you accept that you have the virus and that it is your destiny to let it destroy your liver and cause you to die then that is your choice and you must live/die with it. So why not live in peace with your decision and accept that you have made it.
Myself I choose to do all that I can to influence my destiny.
this virus is very different in all our bodies. i've had it for 30 years and drank for 30 years...a lot! did a lot of drugs too. yet my liver enzymes were barely elevated. discovered hep c after an auto accident.
i want to keep the virus in remission so i'm choosing not to drink and i'm keeping my immune system up by eating healthy and taking supplements to aid my liver. supplements like milk thistle.
the entire time i was in treatment i never visualized myself killing the virus instead i saw myself riding the 'dragon' around the universe. i was in control ! and that's how i see it now.
just my thoughts on it all....
i'm not sure i agree with you that this virus is evil. if it's evil...then we are evil. we humans are killing the planet just like a virus kills us. so are we evil?
The sharks are not evil. The virus isn't evil. I'm not evil. Maybe shark will get hcv & die after eating me for lunch.
You never know what's going to happen in time, all people may be able to fight the virus with in ourselves, like my husband.
