Let me end the mystery Shadow. It was the poison called Interferon that caused most of it; Ribavirin just potentiates its crappy effects and efficacy. It makes it The Perfect Poison. Wasn't that a movie out at C?

Okay I only have negative things to say about Interferon. Time for me to blow -- like tx. I'm just really hating this drug now.

SHIT-- just got home from across the state, bone tired, day 5 of tx triple on incivik and got my approval forms from the insurance company and found that INTERFERON is only approved for 16 weeks but i need it for 48......

does anyone know how much that poison costs?

Not sure how much it costs but the same thing happened to me. Turned out the insurance co wanted to see lab tests to prove treatment was working before they would OK the remaining meds.

Barb it can be pricey. That may have been a preliminary approval though. Call Member Services to inquire about it and see what they say.

Keep up the faith. Sorry I'm so negative now. Hate to be when you and others are starting out. Just ready to be done. Week 24 begins Friday. 9.5 weeks left and I'm doing a daily countdown of something whether it be poison pills, poison shots, ruined weeks or crappy tx days. Okay it's not been that bad daily but in totality . . . Yeah it blows!

Okay but for a balance on the other side of things is there a site delineating negative experiences with Interferon? We can't portray it all as rosy.

I had a low grade fever all day today from interfeon.

I wish I never took any of these drugs. They didn't help and now things are so much worse for me. I have no energy and my legs hurt almost everyday all day. Have been taking pain meds for pain and can't see stopping anytime soon. Now I am worried about the addiction I probably have to them. So depressed most of the time and then all of a sudden or no apparent reason I am ontop of the world. That only lasts a short time though and then back to the depression. Wish I never took them in the first place, really want my other pathetic life back.

I can see how a person can get addicted while on treatment,a pill here for anxiety and a pill there for insomnia.

thank you all for sharing your experiences-- Ernie hang in there, i can't even imagine making it that far.... i am just determined to make it to my first blood test and 2 week followup appt.... where i half hope that my blood looks so bad that they take me off this shit right now.... on the other hand, death by cirosis and or transplant..... and increasing toxins is scarry shit too.... i was feeling so strong and healthy before treatment, but 5 days in it has brought me to my knees.... but right at this moment i am looking out at the last of the beautiful fall leaves

I di 24 weeks of TX. I didn't have any obvious reaction to the weekly injections of interferon. Nothing flu like or achy. The RIBA kicked my butt. Although in reality ALL the drugs work to cure you and F.... You up. After I finished with the Incivek. The last 3 months were easy. I've said this before. I was very lucky that my Dr emailed me every week after blood test. I emailed her with any questions or complaints. She ALWAYS got back to me.
In the end. I'm glad I did the TX. I'm "gladder" it's behind me.

My insurance fright is over for now--- if it is working they will approve more, and if not i won't need it. Gotta say this day 5 of tx has been the best yet-- I had an appetite, felt some energy,, worked and grocery shopped, and feel absolutely normal. Big salad with olive oil and feta cheese for my 2pm fat and am dreaming about what 10 pm will be--- Maybe cause the interferon has worn off (from last Fri nt)... If I can have days like this throughout treatment I know i will be able to make it! This tx has totally redefined joy-- i appreciate the tinest things i took for granted only a week ago

Hi Bago! Itook shot 45 Friday and I found I can take the riba and vic but when all three are done then my energy level drops way down. I think for me that is the biggest prob. Its gotten worse on las 5 or 6 shots. Only 3 more so all good.

@Barbbey. I'm glad you're having (or just had) a good day. In the 1st 3 mos I was always happy to have a couple of good days out of the week - and I always had at least 2 per wk. Now I have more good days than bad, thank God (shot #40 coming up).
