Good question. It's hard to know which one is worse.

I find it to be Interferon personally. I've had a lot of the typical symptoms. Not all of them and never severe but a lot of them and they are a pain to contend with, some more than others.

I believe that interferon confers much longer lasting side effects and damage to the body then riba

Oh great. Let me take this chance to say, once again, treatment blows. It's better than the alternative, but it blows none the less.

This is only my personal belief and cannot back it up other than posting links to side effects to each drug. I has seemed to me though that all the "other" health issues set off by SOC have been blamed on Interferon though (eg. autoimmune, diabetes,etc.) They are both the devil's brew to me bit if I had to do Riba again I would but not Interferon.

B1/B2 - that link - omg!

My fasting glucose zoomed up to 137 on my labs drawn two weeks ago (I'm not treating btw). Doc didn't say a word about it, but, um.... diabetes runs in my family, and it would SEEM that my liver is now having big trouble filtering out the sugar I've been living on (yeah, I know - I AM getting off it). So - gee, I could add Interferon to my "diet" and WHAMMO. Gonna get a diabetes check done with my pdoc. I don't want to start Interferon with that kind of glucose number. It's always been high - like 100 - but 137? And hep doc says nothing about it? (I didn't notice it until a couple days ago.)

Alternative "treatments" sometimes, like today, look very good to me - me with so many other freaking physical and mental issues.

I did 41 shots of interferon so far. For me the sides were the worst from shots 20 to 35. Seems more milder now.

I really do not know or have studied this topic,all I know is I was a nut job when I took them..LOL.

I went to my monthly support group meeting and we all were going on and on about interferon...The chap who runs it to me sounds very up to date with things and trials..

He said that interferon as we all know has many sides and riba has sides with interferon..but riba on a different treatment without interferon has no real sides other then a stomach ache.

Now one of the guys in the meeting just did the gilead treatment 7977 with riba and he said it was a walk in the park,almost like not being on a treatment and he cleared the virus..

So like i said i dont know much,but thats want I heard just on sunday that past.

Interferon proved to be a very damaging drug for me, I am thankful that it rid me of the Hepc. That being said I feel that I still have a long recovery ahead of me from the "cure" The stuff does extract a toll from us.
