Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Arent all of these anticoagulants? I was told before my last surgery not to have any within 10 days of the operation.
Ive been reading that 25% of all interferon patients are getting some retina hemorrhaging. There could be small brain hemorrhaging no one is picking up or talking about.
Maybe there is an expert out there that can tell me different.
I guess it is a necessary evil but just because we dont have to have these prescribed doesnt make them safe. I need them sometimes too but Id be careful with using these too much!

Before I started treatment, "Stay away from Tylenol, hard on the liver.j Take Ibuprofen"
Prior to starting treatment, "Get off the baby aspirin, your platelets will fall and you will be prone to bleeding. Aspirin will make that worse."
After starting treatment, "Stay away from Ibuprofen, it interferes with treatment, take Tylenol, even though it is harder on the liver."
There you go. Depends on where you are with treatment, what kind of shape your liver is in, and how intuitive your doctors are.
One of the specialist said if it is doing this to your eyes dont you wonder what it is doing to your brain

I'm still staying away from tylenol, aspirin and ibuprofen unless I have to
yeah, i take aspirin now but during treatment your platelets will drop so even though it's hard on your liver you need to take tylenol. so i didn't take anything except when the pain would get really bad.
i agree with sarah. here in the uk we are told the same. defo no tylenol, no aspirin and no ibuprofen. i was really surprised to read on one of the posts that the docs in the u s are giving out these drugs to liver patients. i guess it must all depend on where u r and what state ur liver is in eh.
hey tatt:) i was photosensitive through tx too and my eyes hurt bad. i kept getting sharp shooting pains right through them, but they kept an eye on me by reg checks with opthalmologist (if thats how its spelt. lol) i'm with u on this.

As far as my eyes...they were a dry mess on treatment. I used over the counter eye drops (such as Refresh Tears) all day long and, at night, I used the Refresh Tears ointment in my eyes while I slept.
I'm 4-5 mos post treatment now and I'm just now able to go without the constant eye drops...but still use them occasionally. I also had very light sensitive eyes on treatment and I actually wore my sunglasses in the house sometimes.
