Bagel ~ I'm almost back - I've been gone too. Had to let my Heart Dog go on Monday and have been REALLY depressed. So third shot, eh? I have been seriously worried about the shots. They seem to be a really hard thing to do (guess it's the sides). I even called my pdoc's office and asked the nurse if THEY'd do it. The nurse told me of course - however, I wouldn't be able to drive home and sure don't want to stay in the damn hospital for three days.

So tell me how it's going doing the shots. I will be tx'ing in a month or so, I guess.

And god, to find out your husband has HCV on your anniversary? Now that sucks big time. Well, listen, it is what it is. I know all about the blame game. I've been doing it all week - thinking that I let Pepper go too soon. But I'm getting signs from him - incredible stuff. Like exactly 48 hours after he passed one of the three light bulbs over the sink went out. We had three dogs - now we have two. Pepper was third light bulb. He's crossed safely.

Please be good to yourself. Eat some bagels.

It's better that your husband does know his health status, as the Hep C virus is The Silent Killer.
It would probably be pretty unlilely that you gave it to him, via House-hold contact.

Magicat, I'll say it again...I don't even feel my shots at all. I've heard others say that too. It's a very small needle and I've had no issues with it. A little bruising in the beginning but none lately..maybe I've gotten better at my technique.

when I'm on pegylated Interferon, It's once a week and it doesn't even register like coolcat mentioned also... I'm a diabetic also and I'm using the same type of pen delivery system and the same size needle to inject insulin - long lasting twice daily and it's practically automatic for me and yet, I can remember when I didn't have the pen available way back when only a standard syringe was available and the dose was tremendously larger than what is given today and at times it was a pain to inject so much of the interferon in me daily but thank God I wasn't a diabetic back then because I would've gotten on the pump instead...

It'll get better Magicat... It just takes some getting used to.

Everybody has given you very sound advice and I want to express and offer you and your Husband Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary!!! You don't hear that too often anymore so it took a lot of love from both of you to get this far!!!

So how is hubby taking the news? Is he going to start treatment as well? Probably so shocked right now that he doesn't know what to do at this point. Well he's got a very loving wife that can help him through the whole process, holding his hand. =)
