@magicat. I use the regular syringe for my shots & in the belly they don't hurt. the flu-like sx came on later in the night for me the first time, then it took a day, then maybe 2 days. all of the flu-like sx went away after a couple of months. The flu-like would last a few days out of the week. I was doing incivek at that time too. Ibprophen helped me alot. I just rested when I needed to. I was scared and nervous more before starting than after it got underway. after the 1st week, you fall into the routine and aren't so scared. It's no picnic, but the fear is gone, and it's doable. Hugs.
It's nothing. Seriously. I was most worried about doing that. Compared to trying to eat something before each dose of riba, the shot is nothing. It doesn't hurt. It's super easy to do. I was very concerned about getting every step down perfect and a little ocd about it only to realize there was nothing to worry about. The only side I get is a real tightness in my stomach afterwards. I feel like I've done 500 pull ups. I take ibuprophen before in case of flu like symptoms, but have only had the chills the first shot, and it was for a very short time and it was not bad.
My report on tx-
I'm tired. I was tired all the time before though. My stomach gets kinda queezy, especially after eating. That happens daily, several times a day. It's not really bad though.
That's ALL! Magicalkittybaby- it's going to be ok. At least it has been for me so far. I will be getting those canned peaches today however for the tummy. After doing the second shot you'll become an old pro! Be sure and have cotton and a bandaid ready just in case there's a tiny spot of blood. I forgot last time.
There ya go catmagic! You can do it! I am and I'm the biggest OCD baby there ever was! :)
Anybody else get that feeling in your belly like you did 50 situps after a shot? maybe others do bago.
@Catmagic, my condolences on your pup. Nice that you saw the sign from him that he has reached the Rainbow Bridge... I feel your pain on that... Hugs.
@catmagic, sorry to hear about your beloved dog. I lost my 17 yr old cat and I felt like I lost a part of my heart with her so I know your pain. Hang in there!
