Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

WTF??
Click back at ya!
Let's not turn this into an argument and let's keep it a discussion please!
It is what it is folks... How do you think Marylyn and myself feel when we were told that there was a very good possibility that we wouldn't have the virus any longer after our transplants...
Now I cannot speak for her but, I believe she felt the same way I did - BETRAYED!!! PISSED OFF!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
In other words, our emotions ran the gamut for quite some time and when I was told that there was a really good possibility that I could clear if I took another round of SOC only to find out that it only prevented the virus from causing any further damage to my transplanted liver... Did I give up ??? Hell No!!!
I just kept at it as long as my body could tolerate it and I was very fortunate that I was otherwise pretty healthy to tolerate treatment for so many times post transplant...
Now my health is starting to fail me and my body may not be able to tolerate tx as well as I have before so I wait until something better treatment wise becomes available for post transplant patients...
Is it frustrating??? You betcha!!! Am I anxious to get going on this stuff already??? Dam straight!!! Do I lose sleep over it??? Sometimes but, I'm getting better at that as the days go by...
I guess what I';m saying is this... We are all in this together and we shouldn't be fighting or arguing @ one another because we need to preserve out strength which is no longer in abundance.
So let's all have a Cum bayah moment and forgive each other because it' always feels better than holding a grudge against each other.
Finally, I leave you all with this tune which I think is appropriate for this thread... ENJOY!!!

Can I believe that by 2014 when I am 67 freaking years old that this magic elixir will be approved and actually work? Nope.
I truly fail to understand WTF is taking so long for a HUMANE cure for this MONSTER. I mean, with all the advances in technology and all that shit... with the billions and trillions that Big Pharma will make off of us, they can't find something to kill this fucking virus, something that isn't literal poison? Gee, how good it feels (not) to read about people dying who are doing trials. And how tragic to know that people here (and everywhere) go through hell for however many weeks or months only to be pulled off tx. I am really sorry about Rob. That just totally sux. This whole thing sux.
End of rant.

And - I'm tellin' ya, I respect you a lot. Been through hell and back and back again but you somehow manage to keep your head up and carry on. People like you give all of us strength - and sometimes a ray of sanity, which I seem to be losing exponentially because of HCV and no doubt about it - that's the reason I am angry, afraid, anxious, a PIA to everyone who comes within range of me - etc.
Thank you for those very kind words but, I'm certainly not the voice of sanity in here dear... I also Fucking HATE HCV!!!
Every time somebody tells me that I made them feel better, well it surely does make my day complete with joy and hapiness especially when a few minutes before I was not in such a good mood and poof!!! the bad mood is gone!! So right back @ you darling for making me feel better about things again!!!
I do know what you mean dear... I can get that way also sometimes, and then there days when I'm totally insane in my train of thoughts which still scare the crap out me!
I call it wounded animal syndrome where a wounded animal will strike back if cornered so, it's perfectly understandable for one to feel that way Cat...
Look, I'm just like everyone else in here... We want to beat this so we can finally go on with our lives and enjoy what's left of it...
You are just as much a trooper as I am and that goes for everyone else in here also!!!
My only regret is that back in the early days we didn't have access to forums for support like we have nowadays and I cringe to think how many folks I know that could have benefited from having this available for them as well as all of the information available today online that couldn't be found back in the early years... How many folks could still be alive today is hard to tell but, some most definitely could have been saved if access to the vast knowledge base was available to them back then... :>( :>( :>(
One day we can look back at this and realize how much this friggin virus changed our lives as well as ourselves in so many ways. Hopefully we'll laugh and cry and respect what each and every one of us did to get through this nightmare of a disease.
Thank you Catmagic!

Crystal I love and hate your story but for you, personally, I am so happy for you. I don't think that we've ever talked but you deserve it as we all do. Do not feel guilty about it and never stop shouting your story from the mountain tops!!!!
but regarding this trial...although preliminary results look very promising no one really knows what's gonna happen...I would not ordinarily say this but I got lost on my way to work a couple of weeks ago...from 33rd to 53rd streets and the streets here are numbered and I've walked that way a thousand times. I don't know if I can blame it on the trial but I think that's the likely culprit...I may have always been an asshole but I used to be bright...now I feel I am totally losing it...be careful what you wish for...
Eternal SVR to you and I hope that everything resolves. Kat . . . so many colorful people that I will NEVER forget from here. You are one of them for sure.
All, I cant wait until HCV is gone. I am so sorry for the ones with serious liver issues too. I've said plenty tonight.
Thanks folks and hope you all have a restful and pleasant weekend!
