Flu Shots

Just wondering how many of you are getting flu shots? I did a search and it looks like it has been discussed before and the consensus seems to be that it's a good idea.

I saw my doctor yesterday and meant to ask him, but doh... brain fog.

They gave me a flu shot & pneumonia shot in the hospital...i was a little out of it & figured wtpiss..lol...

Doctors will recommend them, flu shots = extra revenue.

I think it's a good idea for those that have really compromised health or are old...I have never had one and don't plan on getting one any time soon. I'm a bit suspicious of them but I tend to be on the paranoid side.

my doc recommended a flu shot while i was on treatment, and got the shot at a cvs minute clinic. i had no reaction to the shot, and didnt get the flu

Whether I have one or not seems to make no difference if I get the flu or not so I have passed the last few years.

I've never had one before...........was actually leery of them........but this year they gave me the pneumonia shot when I was in the hospital in June..........and last month I got the Flu shot...............I figure my lungs are shot, need all the help I can get................prolly won't last long enough to see if there are any long term sides from it ..................LOL

I asked my dr in Oct about getting the flu shot & she said yes, and also gave me a dpt (tetnus, diptheria, whooping cough) booster. I had no bad reaction, just a bit sore at the injection site for a day or two - can't remember which shot made me sore! Last year, before starting tx, my primary also suggested, and gave me the flu shot. That was my first one.

I have not had one in years (knock on wood) And I have not gotten even a common cold in like 6 years now. I am convenced tht if you caome in contact with someone gget as far away as you can and for ALL Means DO NOT TOUCH them in any way. I live as a hermit wood so that is why I never come in contact woith a sick person.

But if you are in contact with people like a nurse expecally I would say YES get the shot,

The flu is a virus, unlike the common cold which is a bacteria, bacteria can be combatted w antibiotics if need b. less than a century ago scores of humanity perished from the flu. now-a-days we have more advanced resources to combat such a virus.

picture a human cell the size of a football field. a bacteria the size of a basketball court, virus the size of the basketball.

THey do contain mercury (which is being phased out of other vaccinations). I've never gotten one.
I had all my childhood vaccines -- found out yesterday I've been sick for 5 weeks with whooping cough. My kids, who haven't been vaccinated but eat healthy, didn't get it.
