The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Didn't make the 12 week threshold cut off, not even close. But, glad I tried, it might have worked and I never would have known if afraid to try.

All you people scared to give it a shot get up and do it. It can only get better. I know I'll be hunting trials and new treatments until I find one that works. You're gonna get sick sometime, might as well get sick trying to get well.

Good attitude. With you. Tried, failed.Yes it was a nightmare but knew had to take a chance. Cut off @ 12 wks cuz VL was rising!!! I'm ready to try again.
NOT giving up.

I'm so very sorry to hear that...must be tremendously frustrating.

Were you on Victrelis or Incivek...just curious.

I know that BMS/Gilead had a small trial for those that failed triple so I imagine as more people go through tx, and there are more failures there will be more trials.

It seems like a really rough spot to be in now....i hope some way, somehow, you will find a solution...kat

Some folks just don't have the needed genes for Interferon based combos to work (me) but don't give up hope. There are so many new trials that don't rely on the interferon pathway to knock out the virus. Rest up, stay tuned! Good things are coming for us really soon! :-)

So sorry to hear! I fear that will happen to me as I didn't clear by week 12 with Interferon and Riba. I don't think I even cleared until about week 18-20 but pressed on until the virus came back with on tx (breakthrough). I'm with you... I will try anything just to see what happens!

Yes, your attitude is an inspiration in itself. I have a friend who is on some new trial that I think is 4 oral meds and only 12 weeks long. He has about a week to go. Hope to see him this weekend - I'll ask what trial he is on.

i wish it was that simple but for some of us the treatment itself can kill us. lol, but glad you have a great attitude about it, new treatments are on the way just stay healthy.

great attitude...sorry to hear it didnt work...stay tuned, there is a lot happening in big pharma and lots money to be made by the successful drug
