I have a GREAT idea. If you post a P.O. Box here, all treating with Interhairlossathon can send you their hair and you can start an HCV hair quilt reminiscent of the AIDS quilt.

The AIDS quilt is made out of human hair??? Because if that's true then whoever put all that ingenuity and effort into making the quilt has got to be one of, if not the most talented people I have seen so far!

If we cannot get it together to make one of those quilts then as a back up plan, to send all that hair to wig makers and have them make the wigs for cancer patients and for people who did tx and lost so much hair that they're ashamed to go out and make an appearance in public!!! This will be"Plan B." What do you all say?
It's is AMAZING when two people put their heads together to come up with these idea's... Truly AMAZING!!! lol

This is a on a need to know basis.....and I need to know......how big is your hair ball?????

It's a good idea, Bruiser- but for me, it probably would have sent me into a bigger tailspin than I already was! I lost ALOT of hair while on tx... I would be sitting at my desk at work, and it would just fall out- like leaves on a tree. I went from having shoulder length hair to a modified pixie- it was too hard to watch it fall out for me, so I had my hairdresser cut it all off. Vain? Yes I am.
On the upside- 6 months post tx- it has all grown back in, and I am now working on growing it out again!

If a hair strand falls from your head in your office and you didn't even notice, does it make a sound and did it even happen anyway?

Jeeze- I just noticed that I typed "ALOT" instead of "A LOT".... My biggest pet peeve came back to bite me in the butt! LOL!

In answer to your question, ECC- trust me... Every report I created had my hair on it... My chair, my keyboard, the desk.... It was heart wrenching... So, there was no way I couldn't notice! And the only sound I heard was me- whining like a baby! LOL!!

Making a hairball is a good hobby to undertake while on treatments. I'll have to remember that if and when I finally can get into treatments. My grandkids would think it's an 'awesome' thing to do.

I'd recommend several hobbies since you're likely not sleeping as much as usual. How about painting? Like the inside of your residence. You're home anyway right? Lol.

Yuck, I didn't lose any hair until 6 weeks POST Treatment, and then it cameout in strands of 10~15, everytime I ran my hands thru my head, which became a habit. I had stopped dying my hair during myTx, so it was grey and long. So at 10 weeks post, I had had enough, so I took action: I put it in a pony-tail, chopped most of it off,and dyed the rest jet black. It stopped fallingout after that, but I am still finding that long grey hair around: behind my bed, on my side,in my car, etc.
The thing I hated most about my hair falling out was; having my hair fall out.!

my hair shed too, I didn't loose it all (24 weeker) but I lost my fringe and it become very thin. I didn't keep a hairball LOL Bruiser!!, I did nearly vomit unblocking the drain though. My strands would be stuck to everything in treatment and as my vision got a bit blurry the strands all over the floor weren't as noticable.

hhmmmm how big? .... it doesn't sound like it is very big but your hair is long and you must have been in tx 4 months already, so minus the first 12 weeks (before mine really loss amped up), not sure if triple increases loss better add that back in, I am guessing a solid 6 inch diameter?

I vote -yes the hairball should be named and photographed :-)
