The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. I still believe that those who have moderately healthy livers, and do not drink excessively will most likely not die of liver failure if they have an occasional beer.
I don't drink because I'm an alcoholic and even if I wasn't, I have stage 3-4 fibrosis.
But lots of folks continue to eat cheeseburgers, pizza and potato chips even though they have a history of heart disease in their families. It's your choice, and we all die in the end anyway.
