I take my first dose tomorrow of Sovaldi (400mg) and Ribavirin (800mg)! The Riba was specific to take with food (guessing it can upset stomach?) so the obvious is 400mg in morning w/breakfast and 400mg in evening w/dinner, but what about the Solvadi? Any suggestions on any best time of day to take it? Or does it even matter? I wish I had asked the nurse this...

I am so stoked! A bit anxious, but really want this to work!!!

I was on 800 mg. and when my rbc dropped really low they reduced it to 600 mg. Mine were also 200 mg.

I take sovaldi and 1 600 mg in the am. 1 600 mg ribbi in evening. 600 mg ribb is a big blue pill. Take a pill every 12 hr. Good luck

Forgot to mention that was with IFN. Now with Sovaldi is another ballgame! Go kill it! :)

One other tip the nurse gave me- you don't have to take your meds 12 hours apart. She recommended I take the ribavirin at 8:00AM and 4:00PM. It really helped with the sleeping. I found that I am a little hyper on the stuff- that helps with the energy for the day.
It took me two weeks to "adjust". Hopefully things jell for you as well.
One more thing- I started on 1200mg because of my weight, I'm not a small gal (LOL) now lowered to 800mg.

Thank everyone. I am doing OK. Not feeling "myself" and noticed about 2 hours after taking each dose, I felt weird. Head was heavy with a dull headache, ears ringing, skin crawly-itchy, legs restless and shaky and numb, head buzzing like I'd taken a diet aid or drank way, way too much caffeine. LOL. Very agitated feeling. Had a crying spell. Not much of an appetite either - which is NOT on my complaint list! Heh.

I am super sensitive to most medications for some reason, so I'm not surprised to feel effects so soon. I just hope the dose isn't too high for me and this is just my "adjustment period". ;-) . One thing I am glad of is that these come in 200 mg pills, so reducing them would be easy if I end up having to. Still not sure why doc ordered such a high dose. Maybe he wants to make good and sure sure we knock this bugger out on our first try as insurance might not pay for a second round! :-/

Overall, I'm good. And made it through this first day. Only 83 more to go!! I am so grateful to have you all as buddies as I go through this. xoxo
