Hemochromatosis Support Group
Hemochromatosis is a hereditary disease characterized by improper processing by the body of dietary iron which causes iron to accumulate in a number of body tissues, eventually causing organ dysfunction. It is the main iron overload disorder. Hemochromatosis is notorious for having symptoms that are often initially misattributed to other diseases.

I am going to do everything in my control to alleviate and revert this problem before is too late. I do not feel good at all, my daily intense pain remembers me now I need to be discipline now.
I have since March 27th with this very-low Iron diet and even I still do not have my blood analysis I am already loosing weight, haha...and still not following my DNA-diet as described in the book.
I am so sorry you are in pain and only able to work 2 days. I really hope the phlebotomy will help you and you can start improving in your condition. I am praying the process you are about to start it goes as gentle and painless as possible. Please take care and enjoy your Sunday. I am sure I will have my results early next week, so I will share them with you here as soon as I have them. Hugs to you! Jorge.
Well, at least my results are there after 2 weeks they took my blood samples, kind a long time, don't you think? Anyway, I will finally know this Monday and I will let you know.
Guess what? I already lost 5 lbs in 17 days just by doing my super-boring vegan diet! haha :) I am still on a lowest-than-possible Iron diet no-meat and no-dairy products. I have not been going to swim because I have been feeling a lot of pain in my joints and also been very tired, so, just by following this kind of extreme diet I lost weight, which is OK to me. Next week, after I know my blood results, I will finally plan the feeding regime I will need to follow.
I am OK in general, hope you are doing well also. I am taking this weekend off the farm which is very nice so I will try to rest as much as possible.
I wish you a great weekend and sending you hugs! Take care my friend! :) Jorge.
Well, I do not want to be a lab rat so I am going to start with blood letting to reduce my Iron once a month, keep my strict diet and check my hormone unbalance and get it fix. That's it so far my dear friend.
So, nobody knows...at least in every one of the other blood analysis I am GREAT: Urea, Sugar, Liver, pancreas, kidneys, Cholesterol, Triglicerids, Blood cells count, Heavy metals, pH, Alkalinity, etc, etc, etc...in everything I am great, a healthy person. I will focus on lowering my Iron and restoring the hormonal balance and I will be OK, but so far, I was not diagnosed with Hemoc and I do not believe I have it...I have something else nobody knows...weird... :(
Anyway, need to move forward the best I can and keep happy and positive, right?
Hope you are doing great, let me know. Hugs! :) Jorge.
Just after I wrote you the previous comment, I got a phone call from the Dr's office requesting my presence so they can explain me something they found that will require more blood samples, some heart-analysis in the hospital and a ultrasound.
Now what else?!! well, I will go the the Dr office next Monday and guess I will schedule another blood sample once I know what for?
Uggg...I do not like this...I do have all the symptoms and pains of Hemoc but I am not diagnosed with this, I do have heart, high iron and severe hormonal unbalance and no one knows anything, so more testing is required,,,:(
There is not too much I can contribute anymore to the group...but if you want me to stay, I will for our friendship :) I will share with you how I am feeling. My best wishes for your process. Please take care and have a great weekend. Hugs! :) Jorge.
