Check the side effects first..
Is the diaphragm still in use or am I dating myself?

You don't like the pill? There's many options out there, some with a lower dosage of hormones like the mini pill.
I wanted to try the Depo provera shot but my Dr warned me a very common side effect of that one is bleeding in between periods, the patch it's also convenient unless you live in a very hot place and I think there's some weight requirements, not sure.
I've heard some horror stories about the yasmin and yaz pill, but so far that's the one that worked the best for me, I'm sure you will find another method that will be good for you, there's a lot of options available, and surely they won't cause you so much trouble, I'm so pissed off that you're going through this, and just because some idiot didn't give you enough information.
CRAZY!
So...are condoms and the pill out of the question?
Apart from getting punctured by the damn thing, having it somehow get into the wrong area, there are other concerns.
I would also suggest people avoid them.
Obviously condoms are another option with few side effects. Used with a diaphram and spermacide it's pretty effective.
Take good care of yourself.
Eventho I'm personally against birth control for women, I was considering some form of birth control due to a recent unplanned pregnancy. I'm totally against the pill & the shot due to all the side effects I've heard about; continuous bleeding with a chance of STILL getting pregnant.
So, I was considering IUD or the coil. My TOP preference is the condom & it use to be my ONLY preference seeing that it's a barrier also for STDs.
But after reading your experience, I will stick with the condoms or abstinence. I hope your uterus goes back to normal & heals itself so that u may be able to start a family of ur own some day.
I've been thinking about what birthcontrol i'll be using from now on, the pill tends to make me sick and bloated so Im staying away from that and I think condoms are going to be the way to go if I can tell my boyfriend he HAS to use them. I do want to have kids in the next few years but I want to do it when im ready. I'll be 20 in june and i'm just not ready. Boyfriend is 23 and although he loves kids he just isnt ready neither. Just goes to show never decide on ANYTHING unless you are SURE you have all the facts
