The thinking is that sex will, given the size of my loads and the 2% unreliability of condoms, inevitably lead to a whole brood of children. It's not that the desire isn't there and the seduction technique doesn't work, it's just this constant, nagging fear that I won't be able to do my part to provide for a family given my income. This fear has always stood in the way of me aggressively pursuing someone and enjoying the kind of dogged, relentless sex life I for one always dreamed of.
Any other guys in the same boat? How do you conquer this fear? Trust in God or some magic karmic source that the cosmos will somehow magically provide, and then work very hard in some field to get promoted, etc.?

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

after the third failure I went and got fixed, could not bare to put another child through the agony of divorce, which I fear would just happen again.
double edge sword, damned if you do, damned if you don't
If it's just pregnancy you're worried about, the size of your load has nothing to do with your sperm count or how good of swimmers your sperms are. Condoms are 98% effective which is real high and a woman is only fertile a short few days a month. The chances of her getting pregnant when any kind of BC is used properly is very low. I've been having a sex and a lot of it for the past 34 years and the 3 pregnancies I had were all planned.
If you're worried about providing for kids, as Toss said providing isn't just about providing financially. The basics are necessary, food, shelter but the non-material things that a parent provides for their kids IMO are way more important than every toy or gadget on the market, an ingroud back yard pool and elaborate vacations.
If you're really worried about pregnancy and you don't ever want kids, get yourself fixed.
Answer: Mixed emotions, leather. I love kids and have a lot of energy (still, at 46) as long as I'm not chasing the bucks. I think the real issue here is I'm not happy in my career(s). What I have to do and the people I have to deal with to make money I find pure drudgery and annoying/irritating. Looking for a career that might actually excite me, but nothing's jumping out at the moment.
Mercedes: "You could always look at it this way, you're 46 do you really want to start now having a family? A lot of women over 40 aren't interested in having more children. Now if you date someone younger she may want children. I think you need to find someone before you worry about having children. If you meet someone older I'm sure she probably already has children. I agree with Toss there is more involved in raising a child than money."
Answer: That'r true, Merc; there's love and energy required, as I said, of which I have a lot of. Making money takes me away from that which I truly love. Maybe I'm the "stay at home" Mr. Mom type, who is more suited to rearing kids and making sure dinner is on the table, while my honey is out dealing with corporate bullshit. And yes, I'm happy to fish in my own age pond, but all the ladies I know are way more physically and emotionally decrepid than me, so I guess I have to fish younger. The younger ones want kids so...
You of course don't have to engage in vaginal intercourse but can get your rocks off in other ways. But many women ( most I've been with) are on birth control. Coupled with condoms chances of pregnancy is very small. If you know a condom has failed, there is plan b or the day after pill or whatever it is called now. Of course she has to be willing to take it.
You can see why I'm having some trust issues with women here lol!
if i were young, i would get a vasectomy before i fathered kids that i couldn't afford or had to keep a job that was horrible.
