What would you do? Friend charged my credit card
I have found out that a friend of mine charged some items to my credit card on two seperate occassions without my permission. I reported the transactions as fraud and later found out once the vendor did an investigation that it was her. Let me be clear that she has never had permission to use my credit card and the only time I can remember her seeing my credit card number is when I ordered pizza at her house. I'm thinking maybe it saved in the internet cache or something when I ordered pizza. She is saying it was a mistake that she did it but I'm trying to figure out how you do that twice. Also she said that she didn't realize she was using my card. I'm sorry but I know what my credit number is. I just don't understand howyou do that accidently. Maybe I'm a sucker for believing what she is saying to an extent. I have known her for several years close to 15 to 17 years. She has been an alright friend but seems to disappear when she gets a boyfriend. She has also started to become someone I didn't know anymore. I know that her mother has committed fraud against her and she does nothing about it. Her mother has opened up student loans in her and her sisters name and used the money for herself, she maxes out her credit card, and she borrows money from her left and right. I feel that since she has become accustom to the normalcy of it all that maybe she thought she would try that with me. I have cut off all contact with her because I feel like the trust has been broken. If you were in the situation how would you handle it?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

You're probably also right in that this is normal for her since her own mother has repeatedly done the same thing to her. And that's really saddening, but it's also not your problem to fix.
I think if you remain her friend, you'll always have lingering feelings of mistrust, always be looking over your shoulder (and highly guarding your purse). You can still have compassion for her situation without being a part of it.
Sorry you're dealing with this. Friendship should be based in trust.
Online vendors typically do not allow a purchase without manually entering the 3-digit code even if the credit card number is saved somewhere.
I agree with Agent Smith's comments.
She is not you friend. Prosecute her for identity theft and fraudulent credit card use. Change all of your credit card numbers, debit card numbers, and all passwords.
I'm not kidding.
Cut this fraud out of your life. Who cares if she has acted friendly to you. it is merely a good method for stealing from you.
I'd bet money that she has done this to other friends.
And if she doesn't do what you think you have to.... Part of it for me would depend on the amount 10 bucks vs 300 bucks
This is a huge breach of trust
I have more then one credit card number on different sites and they always ask you what credit card you want to use.... I would also ask to go to the site to make sure your number is deleted
If she doesn't pay or if it happens again you might have to take legal action..... Big hug......xo
She said it was a mistake so maybe she was shopping or whatever and she forgot to take out your credit card and enter hers in.
I've also accidentally done this but I payed back every dollar and penny back to them and our communication didn't end even though I "stole" from them. In fact we're good friends who hang out every week at least once or twice.
But it's your decision and your opinion that counts.
I hope you find your decision to be correct.

I agree with the others, I'd start looking around your house or dig a bit deeper to see what else she's gotten her fingers into.
If the charges are not for the same pizza place then it wasn't an accident. Up to you on continuing a friendship. She might be going through a hard time financially and people that makes people desperate and sometimes they make impulsive decisions they wouldn't normally make.
