So my partner of almost 3 years broke up with me, but has said I can continue living with her. I didn't ask for this and though devastated, was respecting her decision and looking for apartments while planning to stay with my dad for a short time. However, she insisted I could stay with her so my internship starting next month wouldn't be disrupted. I feel really confused emotionally about the whole thing though. I'm thrilled to still see her each day, but it's also very painful, especially with how she behaves to me sometimes. One moment she will be even nicer than she was when we were together and slip and add babe to a sentence. Somtimes she apologizes for this. Other times she is very insensitive like she has no idea how I might be hurt by something.. or maybe that's the point, I don't know. I'm curious if anyone has an opinion on this, like how to make this a healthy situation. She is reasonable, so if I can explain it to her right she should understand. I just feel very mixed up right now and don't know what to say.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I don't know if you're mainly staying because you hope she'll change her mind and you two can rekindle your relationship?? ... Is that it?
What if she starts seeing someone else... Would that not be terribly painful?... She may not feel she has any need to discuss any of this with you if you're truly broken up but just go on about her life??
This reminds me of someone close to me.... They didn't live together but had daily calls and called each other babe etc after the breakup
I think the only thing that it did for him was that he put his life on hold and things were never to return to a romance
If it were me I would at least put a time limit on how long you'll choose to invest in this if you're not getting out of it what you hope for
I know that it hurts a lot..... Another big hug... I wish you well.....xo
Having a dear love and losing a dear love no matter how that comes travels with a fellow all his life.
You have a good person who has if I am understanding helped you greatly with support these several years. She's told you that healthy for her is to move on from the stress she's been under and the quality of relationship she has with you, but she's been generous offering you extra time to either get to or get through your internship before you show your good faith in beginning to pay her back. She's set a limit and told you she needs and plans to move on but is not leaving you with blame or enmity.
Would you be having an option to approach your father about temporary housing with him while you are doing your internship so you can begin repaying your ex immediately (and paying your father some token rent at the same time) so you can free your ex in good faith as she has acted to you?
